How Does Pet-Tabs Work?
Pet-Tabs is made up of eighteen essential ingredients-eight vitamins and ten minerals-that work along with natural acids to make sure your pet is receiving all the nutrients it needs.
The supplement comes in tablet form. You can give the tablet to your dog by hand right before feeding, or you can crumble the tablet over your dog’s food. Just make sure your dog actually ingests the whole tablet in order to obtain the full effects.
That shouldn’t be all that difficult as the tablet is meat-flavored, and Zoetis claims it is very appealing to dogs.
They are also soft and thus easy to chew. Zoetis also claims that Pet-Tabs meets and even exceeds the canine vitamin and mineral supplementation industry standard.
Ingredients In Pet-Tabs – Are They Safe & Effective?
Unfortunately, Zoetis does not list its ingredients on its website. While they refer to eighteen vitamins and minerals, they do not actually list them.
However, the ingredients can be found elsewhere online and are as follows:
Minerals:
Calcium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Salt, Chloride, Magnesium, Iron, Copper, Manganese, and Zinc.
Vitamins:
Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Pyridoxine and Vitamin B. [1]
Wheat Germ:
Wheat Germ have many benefits for keeping your dog healthy as it is a good source of Omega-3 fatty acids. It helps to boost the immune system, and asthma eases dry, itchy skin and fights inflammatory disease.
Corn Syrup:
As humans, dogs also are at risk of diabetes and obesity if they are consuming too much sugar in their daily diet. Corn Syrup is a good option for the dog if it is suffering from diabetes and is experiencing hypoglycemia.
Pork Liver Meal:
It is used as a flavoring ingredient Dog’s food to give dogs a taste of good.
Sucrose:
A kind of sugar used in dog’s food. Sucrose plays no special function in the widespread canine obesity caused by caloric excess; the number of calories, rather than the source, is critical. Sucrose is added to dog food to make it more appealing. [2] It is natural to believe that tasty food increases obesity in dogs, however, there is no study to back this up.
Safflower oil:
Safflower oil is a powerful source of Omega 6 fatty acids for dogs. These essential fatty acids are vital for your dog’s cell membrane structure and cell function and are needed for healthy reproduction, growth, a strong heart, and immunity.
Gelatin:
It is derived from collagen and according to a study it is used in dog’s food as it contains plasma protein substitute. [3]

While Zoetis boasts positive claims of popularity and effectiveness, no evidence to back these claims are readily supplied.
Pet-Tabs are a simple product packed with vitamins and minerals that are essential to every dog’s diet. They are easy to use and are not overly expensive.
Still, there are many other canines dietary supplements on the market like Extend Joint Care, so consider all options before making a purchase.
