How Does It Work?

Musclecare includes ingredients which exist naturally in the cartilage like glucosamine and chondroitin. They may help to rebuild damaged tissue, decreasing pain and discomfort in the joints.

A review in the Journal of Orthopedic Surgery and Research concluded that chondroitin was more effective at healing pain and physical function, while glucosamine worked best for stiffness [1].

The ointment also has antioxidants that eliminate free radicals and lower oxidative stress, further healing and repairing tissue and boosting the immune system.

A study on healthy middle-aged subjects in Arthritis Research & Therapy concluded that antioxidants may improve bone health and decrease the risk of osteoarthritis [2].

It includes anti-microbial agents which could kill bacteria and prevent infection. The formula is high in anti-inflammatory properties which could lessen pain and swelling in the muscles and joints, and may also help to heal skin conditions.

The product is not suitable for treating open wounds, however. There are also ingredients which draw a lot of hydration, and this helps to moisturize the skin and eliminate dry patches.

Musclecare Ingredients – Are they Safe & Effective?

These are some of the primary active ingredients:

Musclecare Supplements Facts

Musclecare Supplements Facts

Camphor

This is an organic compound which has antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial benefits. It may effectively heal skin issues and kill bacteria and germs to prevent infection.

A study in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology showed the potent anti-inflammatory benefits of camphor [3].

Camphor may offer pain-relief, including decreasing joint and muscle discomfort. It has a soothing, cooling sensation on the skin. A study on mice in Phytotherapy Research concluded that camphor effectively healed wounds and decreased wrinkles [4]

Menthol

Taken from the peppermint plant, menthol has analgesic benefits when applied topically. It also has anti-inflammatory agents, and can lessen pain and swelling in muscles and joints.

An article in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics discussed the effect and mechanism of action of menthol in topical analgesics [5].

It also cools the skin and has a numbing effect. It has antibacterial effects which help destroy microbes and prevent infection. Menthol also has antioxidant activity which helps to repair damaged tissue.

An article in the Arabian Journal of Chemistry examined the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of menthol [6].

Eucalyptus Leaf Oil

The Eucalyptus tree has bioactive properties which promote wound-healing, kill damaging bacteria to prevent infection, repair tissue and skin damage, and decrease inflammation.

There’s evidence that it may lower muscle and joint pain and swelling, and could be effective for back pain. This oil is moisturizing for the skin, and could get rid of dryness.

A review in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture discussed the biological, toxicological, and medicinal benefits of Eucalyptus leaf oil [7].

Q: How Do You Apply It?

A: Musclecare is suitable for adults and children 12 years of age and older. For children under the age of 12, consult with a physician before using.

Q: Is It Worth It?

A: Musclecare does contain some ingredients which have scientific support for their ability to relieve pain and inflammation and heal joint and muscle damage.

Based on the Musclecare reviews, it works well for some customers and is less effective for others. It may be worth it, but there could be other effective brands for less money.

Q: Where to Buy It?

Musclecare Reviews from Customers

Many of the Musclecare review posts were quite good, and there were quite a few users who did get some relief from their symptoms.

However, there were also some who didn’t get the results they expected. Some didn’t mind the scent, while others found it too strong. Here are some of the customer comments:

Works Great!

Love how it works. After two neck surgeries, use this every night to relax the neck muscles for sleep. Works great!! ~Pierson

Three Stars

It honestly didn’t do much. Sorry!~Arzie

Love This Stuff

Have fibromyalgia and have tried just about all the muscle rub products. This one works the best. The only reason for 4 stars vs. 5 is the smell…it stays with you longer than Biofreeze which I used exclusively before trying Musclecare. ~ Penni K.

Did Not Work

It works on mild pain, but did not work on back pain. ~ D.B

Conclusion

Musclecare is an organic ointment available as a cream or roll-on product. It promises to decrease muscle and joint pain, heal damage, and enrich and moisturize the skin. It includes a rich formula, mostly similar to competing products, but is a little costly.

The Musclecare reviews varied in their opinions, but there was some quite good feedback from customers who found it very effective at decreasing muscle or joint pain and other aches. Others got little benefit, or said it wasn’t strong enough. Some disliked the odor of menthol, while others said it was pleasant.

Musclecare contains natural pain relief ingredients, and is free of chemical or synthetic additives. It is possible to have a skin reaction if you have an allergy or sensitivity, in which case you should stop using the product right away and see a dermatologist if necessary.

Bones are connected by joints, which allow us to move with ease. Joint damage can cause pain preventing you from doing the things you once loved. Topical joint relief products tend to work more quickly, helping to relieve pain directly in the affected area compared to products taken orally. A topical joint pain relief product should be evaluated on its: potential to block the transportation of pain signals, potential to act as a counterirritant to reduce soreness and Quality of Ingredients* backed by clinical research.

Below you’ll find some of the most effective topical joint pain products on the market today, in our opinion.

Good but it only provides temporary relief.
I’ve been using this for a year, and I’m glad Amazon has it on their website because working with the actual company to get your order is a nightmare. However, it only provides temporary relief.
