Overview

Melasma is one of those skin concerns that is hard to treat. The brown or gray patches that show up on your face can stick around for months or even years. Many people try multiple products before finding something that makes a difference.

Melloderm-HQ Anti-Melasma is a cream containing 2% hydroquinone, formulated to treat this problem. The brand says it works for melasma, freckles and brown spots on skin. You are supposed to put it on once a day at night.

But does it deliver results or are you better off trying something else? Let’s examine what this cream offers and what users have actually experienced in our Melloderm Anti-Melasma review.

What is Melloderm-HQ Anti Melasma?

Melloderm Anti Melasma Hydroquinone 2% Cream is a skin-lightening topical agent that uses its main ingredient hydroquinone to fade melasma or freckles. It is made by Berich Distributors and comes in a quarter-ounce tube

At 2% concentration, this is the strongest hydroquinone cream product you can buy. Melloderm-HQ anti melasma markets itself as an affordable over-the-counter option for people dealing with stubborn pigmentation issues who want to try hydroquinone treatment without seeing a dermatologist first.

The cream seems hard to find now and may no longer be distributed. However, there are certain online sites where you can find it.

About The Brand

Information about Melloderm’s manufacturer is limited. The company appears to be a smaller scale operation in the skincare market, with a focus on products addressing hyperpigmentation and skin discoloration.

Melloderm-HQ Anti-Melasma is their main product. The manufacturer does not have a big online presence like major skincare brands do. There is no detailed website where you can learn about their other products or how they make them. We also don’t know much about their quality control.

The fact that Melloderm seems to be discontinued and is hard to find raises questions about whether the company is still in business.

How Does Melloderm-HQ Anti Melasma Work?

Melloderm uses the hydroquinone which can also be found in prescription strength to fade dark areas on the skin – whether it is freckles, age spots, or simply darker colored pigmentation.

Hydroquinone stops a substance known as tyrosinase from working properly. That substance plays a key role in creating pigment. If it is slowed down, the skin produces less color where applied. With regular use, discolored patches tend to lighten slowly.

The process is not instant. Melloderm-HQ Anti-melasma can take several weeks of consistent use before you notice visible changes. The cream needs to be applied regularly to maintain the blocking effect on melanin production.

Melloderm-HQ Anti Melasma Ingredients – Are they Safe & Effective?

Hydroquinone

The main ingredient in Melloderm is hydroquinone. This is a topical application that is used for a few purposes but in this case, to fade pigmented skin.

Prescriptions are based on 4% of this ingredient but this one has half the amount and can be bought over the counter without a prescription. It works to fade freckles as well as darker skin and age spots, etc.

How To Use Melloderm-HQ Anti-Melasma?

Here are the steps to use Melloderm-HQ Anti-Melasma for uneven skin tone.

  • Clean your face then wait till it is fully dry before you put it on.
  • Apply a bit right onto the dark patches maybe where melasma shows up, if you are aiming to fade them.
  • The guidelines suggest using it at night but just once per day.

If you are covering more skin, blend the cream into your usual lotion first this water breaks down the hydroquinone cream, though, making it less intense. Use a different mixer if strength matters.

Benefits Of Melloderm-HQ Anti Melasma

Based on the product description, Melloderm-HQ Anti-Melasma provides the following benefits.

  • The main benefit is lightening melasma, freckles and age spots on the face through hydroquinone’s melanin-reducing effects.
  • You can put it directly on dark spots or mix it with your regular moisturizer for larger areas.
  • The 2% formula is gentler than prescription strength versions and minimizes side effects.

Side Effects Of Melloderm-HQ Anti Melasma

Melloderm-HQ Anti-melasma can cause some side effects, but most are mild and do not last long. You might get redness, dryness, a stinging feeling or irritation where you apply it. These usually get better after the first week or two of use.

Your skin might also peel or flake when you are just starting. This is pretty normal. Another thing to expect is that your skin will be more sensitive to the sun. This means you need to wear sunscreen every day while using this cream. If you see unusual darkening or the irritation does not go away then stop using the cream for some time and see a doctor.

Safety Of Melloderm-HQ Anti Melasma

When used correctly, Melloderm-HQ tends to be okay for many grown-ups. Still, some folks ought to skip it entirely. If you are expecting or breastfeeding, it is better to ask your doctor before using it, as there is just not enough proof that it won’t cause issues.

Do not put the cream on damaged skin like sunburns, cuts or spots you have just waxed.
Try a small spot first to check for any bad response. Stop right away if you notice serious issues such as rash or puffiness. Dermatologists usually skip hydroquinone after three straight months check in with a doctor first, then take time off.

Melloderm-HQ Anti Melasma Review – FAQ’s

Q: Does Melloderm-HQ Anti Melasma work on acne scars and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation?

Q: Is Melloderm-HQ Anti melasma suitable for sensitive skin?

A: It might cause irritation on sensitive skin. The 2% concentration is milder than prescriptions, but hydroquinone can still cause redness or burning. Do a patch test first before full application.

Q: Where to buy Melloderm-HQ anti melasma cream?

A: You can buy the Melloderm-HQ Antimelasma from Amazon.

Q: What is the Direction of use of Melloderm Anti Melasma?

A: Make sure that you cleanse your skin well and dry it gently. Use the topical cream either directly on the area you wish to lighten or mix it with moisturizer in order to spread to a larger surface but keep in mind that you are diluting the product being used. If you are going out, make sure to wear sunscreen.

Q: What is the Price of Melloderm?

A:Melloderm is priced at $16 for a 7 g tube.

Q: Is Melloderm approved by the FDA?

A: This product is formulated with hydroquinone at exactly 2.0% concentration. At this level, the FDA does not require the manufacturer to submit proof of efficacy and safety. The FDA has also previously approved hydroquinone for purposes of skin lightening.

Melloderm-HQ Anti Melasma Review – Final Verdict

This is a product that we can not recommend due to a number of reasons. While the price point is decent, you get a small amount of the product. It does not seem in production anymore which means you have to find it with secondary sellers and that can be difficult. Even though it does have a bleaching agent in it that is proven to work, many reviewers stated that it did not work for them which could mean that the actual product itself is subpar. There are other bleaching creams out there that are easier to find and have better reviews.

Skin Brighteners aid in reducing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation revealing even skin tone. Skin brighteners also can help revitalize tired and dull skin resulting in a youthful, healthy glow.

  1. Angela Kim

    Basic product with basic results
I got Melloderm-HQ for dark spots on my face from sun exposure. I used it every night for two months straight. Spots got a little lighter, but nothing amazing. No burning or redness, which was good since I have sensitive skin. For the price it was okay. Don’t expect miracles from it, though.
  2. Nurse Vee

    Tiny amount of product
Liked the Melloderm Anti-Melasma Cream. Just too small of a tube to make any difference. The tiny, tiny tube came not quite full…this might last a week with nightly use. Instructions are not in English.

Melloderm-HQ anti melasma Review Ques and Ans

  • Q: Can men use Melloderm for dark spots?

A: Men can use Melloderm for dark spots. Hydroquinone works the same way on all skin regardless of gender. Follow the same application instructions and safety precautions.

  • Q: Can I use Melloderm if I have rosacea or eczema?

A: It is not recommended. Melloderm can irritate already sensitive or inflamed skin. If you have rosacea or eczema, talk to a dermatologist before using any hydroquinone product.

  • Q: Can Melloderm be used with chemical peels or laser treatments?

A: Not at the same time. Stop using Melloderm at least a week before any chemical peel or laser treatment. Your dermatologist will tell you when it is safe to start again.

  • Q: Can I use Melloderm-HQ anti melasma after microneedling or dermaplaning?

A: Wait until your skin fully heals. These procedures create small wounds. Using hydroquinone on broken skin can cause irritation. Wait at least 5 to 7 days after treatment.

  • Q: Should I exfoliate before applying Melloderm-HQ anti melasma?

A: You can, but it's not necessary. Light exfoliation might help the cream absorb better. If you do exfoliate, wait 10 to 15 minutes before applying Melloderm to avoid irritation.

  • Q: Can I use Melloderm on my hands, neck, or body?

A: You can use it on other areas with dark spots. Apply the same way you would on your face. Just make sure to use sunscreen on treated areas daily.

  • Q: Does Melloderm really work for melasma?

A: Results vary by person. Some users see improvement in dark patches with consistent use. Others report no visible changes. The 2% hydroquinone strength is milder than prescription options.

  • Q: Will Melloderm work on hormonal pigmentation?

A: It may help lighten hormonal dark spots, but results aren't guaranteed. Hormonal pigmentation can be stubborn. If it's caused by ongoing hormonal changes, spots might return after stopping treatment.
