About the Brand

Caro White is a skin-care brand known for its lightening and brightening products including creams, lotions and soaps. The brand is made by Dream Cosmetics company which is based in Nigeria. The products are made in Ivory Coast Africa and are available through various online retailers.

The brand is popular between people looking to put a bright complexion on their skin tone and reduce dark patches.
However some products in the Caro White line have been found to contain higher levels of hydroquinone.

That has raised concerns in certain markets where products with more than 2% hydroquinone require a prescription.

How Does Caro White Lightening Beauty Cream Work?

Caro White Lightening Beauty Cream works by using ingredients like B-carotene, vitamins A and E, and carrot oil to brighten dark spots and even out your skin tone. B-carotene which is a form of vitamin A helps your skin to get rid of old cells by making it smoother and reducing discoloration. Vitamins A and E act as antioxidants that support skin repair and can also help fade dark spots.

Although there isn’t a specific study on Caro White itself, research on the individual ingredients shows they can help improve skin health.

Many users start noticing results after a few weeks and with a more bright skin tone and less dark spots but results can vary from person to person and some people may need to adjust how much amount of the product they use to avoid any irritation.

Caro White Lightening Beauty Cream Ingredients – Are they Safe & Effective?

Hydroquinone

It is a chemical that may be used to lighten skin tone. It comes in cream, gel, lotion, and emulsion forms. As we explained in our Porcelana Cream review article, this powerful ingredient has been extensively studied for its ability to reduce the production of melanin, resulting in a more even complexion and diminished appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

Stearic acid

Stearic acid helps keep the cream smooth and stable. It also helps the ingredients mix together nicely and give the cream a good texture. It is a lubricant that softens skin, as well as a key component of the skin’s barrier, and is commonly used in skincare products. This ingredient is mostly used in many skin care products to maintain skin hydration and protection. [1].

B-Carotene

B-Carotene is a natural antioxidant that helps boost collagen production. This is important for preventing and reversing signs of aging by improving skin elasticity and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. [2].

Vitamin A

Vitamin A helps to promote natural moisturising and helps to speed up healing, reduce breakouts, and strengthen the skin’s immune system . It also helps to regenerate the skin cell which makes it a natural skin healer [3].

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your skin from damage. It also supports skin healing and helps keep your skin smooth and firm. Vitamin E also helps protect your skin from UV radiation and boosts the effectiveness of other sun-protective ingredients [4].

Carrot oil

This ingredient helps nourish the skin and protect it from damage while giving your bright and a healthy glow. It has antifungal and antibacterial characteristics that may be helpful in the treatment of skin infections.

Cetearyl Alcohol

Cetearly alcohol ingredients ensure the cream stays mixed. It also helps the cream feel soft and smooth when you apply it. This fatty alcohol has the ability to soften the skin and hair which improve the overall texture of the product.

Unfortunately very little is known about the formula for this cream although the key lightening ingredient seems to be a substance called Hydroquinone. According to Webmd, this is an ingredient that can often be purchased on its own for the purpose of lightening pigmentation but it is somewhat controversial and should certainly be used with caution.

The full list of formula ingredients can be found on some retailer’s websites but limited information is provided for each individual substance. In addition to the Hydroquinone, vitamins A and E and B-Carotene are used in the product to condition and nourish the skin while Glycerin, mineral oil, and Carrot oil all provide moisture, hydrating the skin for additional smoothness and softness. It is not known how suitable this brightening product is for sensitive skin or if it is hypo-allergenic.

Effective but skin may need adjustment
I have been using Caro White for a few weeks now and I have noticed some improvement in the brightness of my skin. It lightened a few dark spots but I experienced a bit of breakouts at first so I reduced the amount I used. Overall, it’s a good product.
  2. Keria

Worked for me, but be careful!
I don’t think the product is FDA approved but honestly has worked great for me. Have a tight skincare routine in general. Stay away from foods that irritate you and avoid direct sun exposure during bright hours. I’m assuming our skin is exceptionally sensitive to the sun rays and not as protected.
  3. Natalie Sylvestre

How to use Carowhite lotion or Cream
If anyone is using this lotion mix this with any other lotion that you would use every day and mix it with coconut oil. The lotion and cream on their own are too strong. I strongly recommend mixing it with another lotion to get the best results.
  4. Sandra

Caro White Lightening Beauty Cream results
I have used this cream for about 2-3 weeks on my face but just some parts are getting lighter. I don’t know if I should continue or stop using the cream. I am getting confused about it.
  5. Marlene May

    Excellent lightener
This is a brilliant lightener and moisturizer. It works really well if you use the oil with it, but you can use it on its own. Although it has hydroquinone in it, I have never had any problems and it leaves my skin so soft.
