About the Brand

Your Good Skin is a skincare line developed by Boots, a UK-based pharmacy retailer. It is a trusted name in the healthcare industry, offering a wide range of products from medicines to beauty items. The Your Good Skin range, launched in 2018, aims to provide accessible skincare solutions that balance skin health.

But despite being backed by such an established brand, Your Good Skin has received mixed reviews. It is reasonably priced and appropriate for basic skincare, but when compared to more expensive skincare brands, it frequently falls short of expectations and fails to address the needs of people with more complicated skin issues.

Your Good Skin Review – Does it Really Work?

Your Good Skin Balancing Skin Concentrate combines various ingredients which are aimed at improving skin balance, but results can be different. Glycerin helps to restore the moisture into the skin which keeps it hydrated, while dimethicone creates a light barrier to prevent moisture loss.

But some users may not find this serum good enough for long-lasting hydration. The product also includes antioxidants like vitamin E, which may offer some protection against environmental stress. Panthenol helps add moisture, but it may not be as good as for deeply dry or compromised skin.

Bisabolol is used to stop the irritation, though its impact can be mild. Sodium hyaluronate, known for its hydrating face serum and plumping, works to regain moisture but might not be enough for those with extremely dry skin. While the ingredients support skin health, their effectiveness can depend on individual skin types and concerns.

Your Good Skin Ingredients List

Here are the list of ingredients which are the main components in improving skin texture and tightening skin pores thus reducing oil production. The ingredients used include:

Dimethicone

Dimethicone is a gentle, effective moisturizing ingredient for both the face and body. It helps provide long-lasting skin-smoothing benefits, and is ideal for areas prone to rough, dry skin such as knees, elbows, hands and feet, and can help with certain skin conditions like eczema.[1].

Tocopheryl Acetate

Tocopheryl acetate can be found in thousands of skincare products where it is used as a skin-conditioning agent. It antioxidant effects may help prevent skin damage caused by excessive ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun[2].

Panthenol

Not only does panthenol draw water to the skin, but it also improves the function of the skin’s protective barrier, thus reducing water loss[3].

Sodium Hyaluronate

Sodium hyaluronate is one of the safe ingredients for both hair as well as skin and provides hydration in a better way. It can keep moisture in the skin in a much better way and can be included in the skincare routine easily. Due to its amazing property, it makes the skin look more youthful as well as beautiful.

Polysorbate 20

Polysorbate 20 is a liquid emulsifier that helps water and oil combine. It is ideal for use in room sprays, toners and liquid-based products.[4].

Xanthan Gum

Xanthan gum may not be an active ingredient, but its use in skincare is significant for product texture and formulation. It is not known to have any toxic or harmful side effects, can be appropriate for use in natural and organic skincare and is thought to have some hydrating benefits for the skin.[5].

Ophiopogon Japonicas Root Extract

Ophiopogon japonicus is an evergreen perennial used in traditional Chinese medicine mostly for the treatment of cardiovascular complications and inflammation. Mondo grass is most often used forCardiovascular Health.

  1. Jennifer W.

Effective, but not for stubborn skin.
It did not work as well as I hoped for my dry skin. The product hydrates but is not strong enough for long lasting results. I noticed some improvement in oil control, though. Overall, it’s okay but not a miracle.
  2. Joyce A. Venables

    I Love This Product
After a stroke and 3 hospitalizations with all the crap they injected and fed my body my face, which I NEVER had a problem with (even as a teenager) was a mess.

My skin was oily and no matter what I did I could not ‘fix’ it. Then I found this face wash. Where have you gone? I NEED you.
