How Does Dog Is Human Work?

Dog Is Human supplements are formulated with vitamins and antioxidants to support canine health. Key ingredients like vitamin E and vitamin D play roles in reducing inflammation and supporting immune function. For example, a study by Malek et al. (2023) found that vitamin E supplementation in dogs with osteoarthritis decreased inflammation markers and improved pain scores.

Additionally, research by Jewell et al. (2017) demonstrated that vitamin D supplementation increased serum levels of 25-hydroxy vitamin D in dogs, which is important for bone health and immune function.

These ingredients work synergistically to support overall health, potentially enhancing energy levels, immune response, and joint function in dogs. However, it’s important to note that while these ingredients have shown benefits in various studies, individual responses may vary, and further research is needed to fully understand their efficacy in all canine populations.

Dog Is Human Ingredients – Are They Safe & Effective?

The ingredients listed for Dog Is Human supplements appear to be aimed at supporting various aspects of a dog’s health, including joint health, digestive health, immune function, skin and coat health, and overall vitality. Let’s break down some of the key ingredients and their potential safety and effectiveness:

dog is human supplement facts

Dog Is Human Supplement Facts

Glucosamine HCl

Glucosamine is commonly used to support joint health and may help with conditions like arthritis.[1]

Glucosamine supplements, known for promoting the growth of cartilage cells and reducing joint inflammation, are included in Freedom Joint Chews.

According to the ACK study, trying a glucosamine supplement may help alleviate arthritis pain in dogs and enhance their energy and mobility.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a natural sulfur compound included in Dog Is Human supplements for its numerous health benefits, particularly for supporting joint health and reducing inflammation. MSM is well-known for its ability to alleviate joint discomfort by reducing swelling and improving flexibility, making it especially beneficial for active or aging dogs prone to joint issues.

MSM is often used with glucosamine to support joint health and may have anti-inflammatory properties.[2]

In addition to promoting joint mobility, MSM helps enhance overall well-being by supporting the immune system and contributing to healthy skin and coat. Its anti-inflammatory properties work to reduce oxidative stress, which can improve your dog’s energy and vitality. As a safe, research-backed ingredient, MSM plays a key role in helping dogs maintain an active, comfortable lifestyle.

Probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bacillus coagulans, Enterococcus faecium)

Probiotics like Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bacillus coagulans are essential for maintaining a healthy digestive system in dogs. They restore the balance of gut bacteria, aiding in nutrient absorption and reducing issues like diarrhea or gas. Enterococcus faecium, in particular, supports gastrointestinal stability during stress or illness. A study by National Library of Medicine emphasizes the benefits of probiotics in promoting gut health in pets.[3]

This ingredient, found in the Wild Belly Dog Probiotic Review, is generally safe for dogs and may effectively maintain gastrointestinal health.

Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil

Salmon is a highly beneficial protein source for dogs, offering various health advantages when integrated into their diet. As explored in our Badlands Ranch Superfood Bites Reviews, salmon is abundant in omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These essential fatty acids are vital for maintaining healthy skin and coat, reducing inflammation, and supporting cardiovascular health in dogs.

Furthermore, salmon serves as an excellent protein source, providing all the essential amino acids necessary for muscle maintenance, growth, and repair. Additionally, it is rich in essential vitamins like vitamin D and B12, along with minerals such as selenium, crucial for immune function and energy metabolism.

Vitamins (A, E, B2, B6, B9, B12, D3)

These vitamins play various roles in supporting overall health, including immune function, energy metabolism, and bone health. When provided in appropriate doses, they are generally safe and can be effective in addressing nutritional deficiencies.[4]

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

CoQ10 is an antioxidant that may support heart health and energy production. While it’s generally considered safe for dogs, its effectiveness for specific health conditions may vary.[5]

Overall, the ingredients listed for Dog Is Human supplements appear to be safe and may offer various health benefits for dogs. However, it’s essential to consult with a veterinarian before starting any new supplement regimen to ensure it’s appropriate for your dog’s individual needs and health status. Additionally, be sure to follow dosing instructions carefully to avoid potential adverse effects.

Folic acid

Folic acid, which supports various aspects of health such as cell division, DNA synthesis, and overall metabolism, is included in some pet supplements. It aids in the production of red blood cells and is commonly used to support pregnant or lactating pets and those with specific medical conditions. This ingredient is documented in the Smalls Cat Food Review.

What Do the Dog Is Human Reviews Say?

While online reviews for Dog Is Human may be limited, this is common for a new brand entering the market. However, within just over a month, they’ve already garnered an impressive 125 reviews, demonstrating significant traction in a short period.

Anytime a product makes claims that can’t be proven and aren’t tested using the scientific method, I’m skeptical. I’m happy when those products seem to work, and frustrated when they don’t. This one didn’t seem to have any benefit for my pet at all. In fact he had one of his worst flare-ups ever when taking this product. Does it have any actual effect? Who knows? It didn’t see to have any efficacy on my dog. – Chris Michaud.

Have used these probiotics for both my dogs and cats for years with good results. The formula has changed and they now smell terrible (like yeasty spoiled fruit) I noticed it immediately after lifting a portion of the safety lid. They look completely different than what I’ve received in the past. My dog was very reluctant to eat the tiny piece I broke off for him to try. No way I will be able to get my cats to eat it sprinkled over their food, the smell is so off putting and they’re the ones that need it most (cuts down on box smells a LOT) Picture shows the difference between new (top) and old. Very irritated that I’m stuck with (no returns) $80 of worthless (possibly spoiled?) product that I’ve depended on for years. – Pam M.

My dog wouldn’t eat it. Also my dog is 6 pounds so had to chop it up. They are big dog supplements. Not happy. Also, I was way within the time limit to return and they would not provide a refund email slip. If they would issue a refund I would definitely change my review. – Nah.

Dog Is Human Review – Conclusion

Dog Is Human provides a well-formulated supplement designed to support various aspects of canine health, including joint, skin, and immune system function. Its use of high-quality, natural ingredients makes it a viable option for pet owners seeking to enhance their dog’s overall well-being. The product offers a simple, easy-to-administer solution that could be beneficial for dogs of all ages.

However, while the product shows promise, some dogs may experience mild side effects, such as digestive disturbances or skin reactions. The product’s high cost can be prohibitive, especially for multi-dog households or long-term use.

The limited variety of products offered by the brand may not cater to pets with specific health issues, leaving owners searching for alternatives. Some dogs may also refuse to eat the chews due to taste preferences, negating the ease of use that the brand emphasizes.

For pet owners considering the Dog is Human, it’s important to weigh the potential benefits against the drawbacks. While it might be worth trying for dogs with noticeable deficiencies, there are many other supplements on the market that offer similar claims at a lower cost.

Consulting with a veterinarian to identify a product tailored to your dog’s specific needs is a more reliable approach. For those seeking value and proven effectiveness, exploring alternatives for dog supplements may be a better option.

Dog is human chews - overpriced and underwhelming
I gave my 30-lb Beagle one Dog Is Human chew daily for two months. They’re easy to give, but he wasn’t thrilled with the taste, often spitting them out. His coat’s maybe a tad shinier, but no change in energy, joints, or itching. At $46 a jar, it’s too expensive for such faint results. I’m frustrated and switching to a cheaper option.
  2. Thomas J

    Not Worth the Price
While the product seemed like a great idea, my dog refused to take it, no matter how I tried to disguise it in her food or treats. On top of that, I didn’t see any improvement in her coat, energy levels, or overall health after weeks of trying. For the price, I expected much better results, but unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. Not sure it’s worth the cost or the struggle to get her to take it.
  3. Emily B.

    The end results are Disappointing
I wanted to love this product, but after a month of use, my dog had mild digestive issues. I had to stop giving it to him, unfortunately. It’s a shame because the ingredients seemed great and I was hopeful it would improve his health. I even followed the recommended portion sizes, but the issues persisted. I wish it had worked better for my dog, as I know others have had positive experiences
  4. James L.

    Okay, But Not Impressive
It’s okay, but I didn’t see the glowing results I was hoping for. My dog didn’t seem to notice much of a difference in his overall health. The product was easy to use, and I appreciate the effort that went into creating it, but unfortunately, it didn’t have the impact I expected. I was really hoping for noticeable improvements in his energy levels or coat quality, but everything seems about the same as before.
  5. Sam M.

    didn't like the Results
I tried Dog Is Human for my older dog, but I didn’t notice any significant changes in her health. She ate it without any issues, and the ingredients seem high quality, but I didn’t see the improvements I was hoping for. It may work well for some dogs, especially younger or more active ones, but it might not be the right fit for everyone
