1. Your “After” is not Better than Your “Before”. You are Worthy Before and After
During my weight loss journey, I never considered that I could regain the weight I had lost. In the past, I had patterns of losing and gaining weight over and over again, but I just knew that this time it would be different.
Well, I was wrong. I ended up gaining the weight I had lost. Not all of it but a lot of it. Enough to make me realize that I was missing the bigger picture.
At this point in my life, I was aware that we learn lessons through what we experience in life.
I was also aware that when you don’t take in the lesson? THE SITUATION WILL OCCUR TIME AND AGAIN; each time to teach us a little more.
Understanding this allowed me and see the beauty of our bodies at all stages.
Our bodies resemble the seasons, and continually evolving (earliest stages, adolescence, youth, middle age, maturity, weight, estimate) however the one thing that remaining parts unchangeable is our spirit.
Our feeling of personality. Our identity at our core
2. You don’t need Anyone’s Approval to feel Beautiful
So you’re ready to lose weight and feel great. That’s awesome! But know that you have permission to feel beautiful right now at this moment.
You don’t need to wait until you lose those 10 or 20 lbs for you to be able to access those feelings. Those feelings are available to you NOW.
And the more you practice the feelings of health, vitality, beauty, and radiance, the quicker it will manifest in your body.
3. The Comparison is the Thief of Joy
You can be having an amazing day and feeling great, but as soon as you compare yourself to someone else who is already where you want to be, you will be thrown out of that good feeling state.
Our journeys are individual and personalized to us. You can’t compare your progress of the timing of your life with the life of others.
4. Trust The Process
If you are showing up day after day and taking the necessary steps that you believe will take you to where you want to be, then trust that.
The minute you stop trusting is the minute it stops working.
5. You are capable of more than you give Yourself Credit For
Don’t underestimate your strengths. Look how far you’ve made it! Often we get stuck in the memories of all the times we failed instead of looking at it with fresh eyes.
6. Your Physical Body can’t change your State of Being
You can’t hate yourself thin. While weight loss has been proven to boost confidence, it is a result of reaching for the better feeling thought.
You have created a new awareness about yourself and your body. If you don’t like your body now, you won’t like the one that’s on the way.
It’s all about perspective and understanding thyself in the now.
7. You are more than just a Body
Sit with this for a while. What do you think is beyond your physical body?
8. It’s okay to be flexible
We live in a society of information overload. It’s not the lack of information that keeps us stuck. It’s the overload of information and not knowing what to try next that will often keep us in the same place.
I’m sure you have seen hundreds of diets and weight loss methods and have heard countless testimonies of what works and what doesn’t.
You have to understand that we are bio-individuals. What works for some won’t work for others. Hence, the hundreds of theories out there.
My advice to you here is to follow what resonates with you at that particular moment. If you are being guided to something, listen to that.
The only way you will know if it will work for you is by trying it.
It is all about trial and error. Soon enough you will have tried enough things that you will know what works and what doesn’t work for you. Only you know what is best for your body.
9. The way that you Think about yourself Truly Impacts you
You might have heard this: where attention goes, energy flows. Your body won’t go where your mind doesn’t.
You can either focus on being stuck, or you can focus on where you are going.
Pick a focal point and stick to it. You can’t focus on your body as it is and how you want it to be at the same time.
10. Your Weight is your Story
It’s what happened to you in childhood. It’s what’s happened to you in your life. Like Dr. Paul Epstein says, “You can go on a diet, workout and lose weight.
But why is it 90% of people gain weight back 6 months later? Because weight is just a symptom & a reflection of a deeper pain”.
Whatever is going on internally is reflecting externally. Your body remembers the trauma, painful memories and more. What is your body protecting itself against?
11. Food and Exercise is Important, but there’s More
But those are just two pieces of the puzzle. We are complex beings.
Meaning that there are many parts to us. Living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is easier when we learn to integrate our mind, body, and spirit.
I want to leave you with one last thing. Our minds are working 24/7. In fact, Dr. Joe Dispenza claims that in one single day we think sixty to seventy thousand thoughts a day.
And 90% of those thoughts are the same as the day before and the day before that.
What are your thoughts about weight-loss? Have you created the belief that losing weight is hard and that the process is painful? Or do you believe that weight loss can be fun and enjoyable?
Are the majority of your thoughts helping you get to your goal or are they keeping you where you are?
What is one action step you can take today to bring you closer to where you want to be?
What thoughts do you have to shift?
