Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Reviews

Overview on Beeswax Lip Balm

Beeswax Lip Balm is the original lip care formulation from the well-known natural skincare company, Burt’s Bees.

It is now an established brand name in the United States, and Beeswax Lip Balm has been one of their most sought after products since 1991.

The formula is mostly for lip care but it also contains peppermint oil to help make the lips appear suppler. For the price of $3.29, this is a reasonably-priced lip balm.

About The Brand

Burt’s Bees was first created by two individuals namely Roxanne Quimby and Burt Shavitz. Burt was known locally for selling honey which he harvested from his own farm.

He met Roxanne and they quickly hit it off. They started selling candles made from Burt’s beehives and within a year they started making a lot more money.

Their first and most popular product is the Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm but they now offer a range of skincare products made from beeswax and other natural ingredients.

What Are The Ingredients?

The ingredients of the lip balm are coconut oil, beeswax, tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol (vitamin E), peppermint oil, lanolin, comfrey root extract, and rosemary extract.

Peppermint causes a refreshing tingle that slightly makes the lips suppler. Beeswax is known to condition the skin and it helps keep the lips healthy and address problems like lip chapping.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that moisturizes and protects the lips from environmental damage. Lanolin and the other natural ingredients soothe the lips and reduce discomfort from cracked or chapped lips.

Does It Work To Give You Soft Lips?

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is proof that you don’t need to spend a lot of money just for lip care.

It is very effective in softening the lips and making it smoother. It is a great formulation for protecting the lips and addressing cracking or chapping.

It uses natural active ingredients that are highly safe and effective. However, it only offers a very slight lip plumping effect.

What to Expect From This Lip Balm?

Upon application, expect a soothing effect that helps reduce inflammation. Expect your lips to become softer and smoother.

There is a slight tingling sensation due to peppermint oil being included in its formulation.

Take note that some people are sensitive to this natural ingredient which may lead to lip or skin irritation.

The formulation can help address lip cracking and chapping. It can also be used to protect the lips from the elements.

What Are The Advantages?

  • Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm uses all-natural active ingredients
  • It soothes the lips and makes it softer
  • The formula is great for protecting the lips
  • It is very affordable

What Are The Disadvantages?

  • The formula is just lip balm and doesn’t offer a significant lip plumping effect
  • There are some negative reviews due to lip irritation probably from the active ingredient peppermint oil
  • Similar formulations are offered at a lower price
  • Some people say it doesn’t last very long so you have to keep re-applying it
  • Some customer feedback says that it turns the lips white during very cold weather

How to Apply It?

Apply Beeswax Lip Balm liberally on clean, dry lips. Re-apply as needed. In case of an unbearable burning or stinging sensation after application, wash with water and discontinue use. This may be an indication that you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.

Wrap Up

After extensively examining Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm including its formulation and the customer reviews on the product, it is a good lip balm.

It is made from all-natural ingredients and it has been around for a very long time.

The only problem is that it may cause lip irritation to those who are sensitive to peppermint oil or any of the ingredients.

It is a lip care product worth trying but if you’re looking for a lip plumping product it would be best to look at other products.

When it comes to choosing any kind of product, many consumers are concerned about the product’s effectiveness and safety. The same goes for choosing a lip plumper. Of course, you need to find products that work so that you won’t be wasting your money. You also need to make sure that the lip plumper is completely free from side effects since many products contain harmful ingredients that may cause irritation, severe allergic reactions and other side effects. Scrutinized and reviewed by experts, we have rated the most effective lip plumper for our valued readers.

  1. I'm not too disappointed but it could be better
I started using this lip balm a few weeks ago and I loved it. The first two days were great and then the lip balm started making my lips pale and just barely chapped enough to the point where it got frustrating.
