Overview

Eye creams are a dime a dozen, and because the market is so flooded with them, there are bound to be some bunk products. To help you find an eye cream that really works, we will be taking a look at one from a very popular brand. It’s called RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream, and it is claimed to be unique because it contains a proprietary ingredient.

Roc is a very well-known manufacturer of cosmetics and beauty products, which is probably why so many people have flocked to this product. In terms of how it works, people seem to like the fact that it applies lightly and slightly diminishes the appearance of dark under-eye bags.

TL;DR

  • Dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines are common under-eye concerns, especially as skin loses moisture and elasticity with age.
  • RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream is a lightweight formula made to hydrate the under-eye area while helping soften dark circles, crow’s feet, and fine lines with a proprietary ingredient.
  • Many users report quick absorption and visible smoothing within a short period, though results vary based on skin type and regular use.

The makers of RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream claim that, in addition to evening out your skin tone and lightening dark circles, it can reduce the appearance of fine lines, crow’s feet, and other wrinkles. But is RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream really worth it? Find out in the following review.

What Is RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream?

RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream is a skincare product that takes the form of a lightweight cream. Each bottle contains half an ounce of the cream, and it is suitable for both men and women. The manufacturers of RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream say that it will also work to hydrate the user’s skin.

While some of the ingredients in RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream are very common in beauty products, it has one ingredient that they claim is proprietary. This ingredient is said to be useful for penetrating the deeper layers of the skin around the eyes and targeting the lack of hydration that is sometimes the cause of dark circles.

We are also told that RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream will work quickly. The company even says that 97% of volunteer consumers reported a visible reduction in the visibility of their crow’s feet in just one week. For the most part, people use this product to improve the appearance of the skin around their eyes.

Who is the Manufacturer of RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream?

RoC is a very well-known company that is known for its high-end skincare and beauty products. The brand has an air of sophistication about it because it was established in Paris in 1957.

The company claims that over the years, they have accumulated various rewards for cosmetology and have pioneered new at-home treatments for a variety of skin issues. Today, they are one of the industry’s most prominent beauty brands.

How Does RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream Work?

The main function of RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream is to support the skin around the eyes. Most people need this extra support because the skin around the eyes is commonly very thin and prone to dehydration. The makers of RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream say that their product will work to plump the thin eye skin area up and increase hydration.

So what scientific evidence is there that RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream will work in this way? Let’s take a look at just one of the active ingredients in the formula: shea butter. In some clinical studies, it has been suggested that shea butter increases skin hydration because it prevents excessive moisture evaporation from the skin.

This means that shea butter may help your skin hold on to more moisture and effectively improve its overall hydration. The makers of How Does RoC Multi Correxion also say that the product will work to fade dark circles with the use of a proprietary ingredient they call Hexyl-R Complex, but there are no clinical studies on this ingredient.

RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream Ingredients – Are They Safe And Effective?

Let’s take a look at the How Does RoC Multi Correxion active ingredients:

Citric Acid

Citric acid is known for its antioxidant content and ability to speed up skin cell turnover.

There have also been some studies that suggest that citric acid could also work to increase dermal thickness – possibly plumping the thin skin around the eyes and making it more resilient[1].

Sunflower Seed Oil

Sunflower seed oil is very common in hair and skincare products and is usually used to lock in moisture.

While some clinical studies seem to confirm its hydrating properties, there are some people who are allergic to botanical seed oils like sunflower seed oil[2].

Tocopherol

Tocopherol is a popular ingredient in skincare products because it is a form of vitamin E, a potent antioxidant. There have been clinical studies that suggest that tocopherol can help prevent skin damage caused by prolonged exposure to UV rays. Still, others have concluded that “there was no overall photoprotective effect” of tocopherol supplementation[3].

As highlighted in Alastin Restorative Eye Treatment reviews, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) supports skin protection from free radicals and external pollutants. It also helps fade scars and maintain long-lasting moisture.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. It has been included in this formula for its apparent ability to penetrate deep into the skin and promote a more uniform tone.

The following quote, taken from a National Institutes of Health study, should be strongly considered, though[4]:

A metabolite of niacin (vitamin B3) was associated with elevated risk of heart attack and stroke, likely due to inflammation in arteries.

In reviews of Glow Recipe Vitamin C Eye Gel Cream, it’s noted that Niacinamide, a form of vitamin B, has been shown in studies to support overall skin appearance. Niacinamide was associated with reduced fine lines and wrinkles, fewer hyperpigmented spots, less redness, and improvements in skin sallowness (yellowing).

Shea Butter

Shea butter is known for its hydrating properties and is typically harvested from the Shea tree, which grows naturally in Africa.

Shea butter may help lock in moisture on the skin and prevent moisture loss throughout the day, as mentioned in the following NIH study quote[5]:

Shea butter forms a layer on the skin’s surface to physically prevent water evaporation (transepidermal water loss).

What Do the RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream Reviews Say?

There have been some RoC Multi Correxion Eye Cream reviews that say it works to brighten the area around the eyes, but others have mentioned concerning side effects:

Love this eye cream, a deep eyebrow furrow is actually getting better.

This cream was incredible. And I say was, because now they’ve put niacinamide in, which means I, as one of those lucky folk for whom niacinamide causes painful, weeping cystic acne, can no longer use this product. So thanks for ruining it, guys.

Used the product for one night and woke up with chemical burns and blisters under my eyes. –Angie

  1. Bennett Rowe

Decent hydration, mixed results on circles
I use this nightly rice-grain amount per eye after cleanser and before moisturizer. Texture is lightweight and absorbs quickly, which I like. I noticed slightly better hydration and softer fine lines after about a week, but dark circles only improved a bit. The tube is small for the price, and there’s occasional mild burning if I layer too fast. Feels solid, not groundbreaking.
  2. Jessica Monroe

    Worked… but took forever
Not gonna lie, this eye cream did smooth out some lines, but man… it took 2 weeks before I noticed anything. Kind of expected quicker action for the price. Decent, not mind-blowing.
