According to the Clinical, Cosmetic, and Investigational Dermatology, ceramides were found to increase skin hydration and improve barrier function[2].

Along with ceramides and fatty acids, cholesterol improves the water barrier formation on the skin according to the Indian Journal of Dermatology. In topical creams, cholesterol and ceramides help to improve the skin texture making it softer and smoother[3].

Fatty Acids –

These are components found in botanical oils. The composition of human skin lipids contains triacylglycerols and free fatty acids. According to Frontiers in Pharmacology, fatty acids are naturally present in the human stratum corneum[4]. The journal further points out that the oiliness of the skin correlates with the level of fatty acids.

Essential Oils –

This product contains a blend of lavender, rosemary, and peppermint oil. These oils are used for medical purposes especially for dermatological uses as per the Evidence Based Complimentary and Alternative Medicine. There are countless anti-wrinkle creams on the market promising to make skin look and feel younger. Many anti-wrinkle creams promise everything short of a facelift or to provide the much sought after "fountain of youth". In reality most are just moisturizers marketed as anti-aging products.

  1. Julia W.

Love the way it feels on my skin.
After using this anti-wrinkle skin cream for over 3 months, I do feel my skin has definitely firmed and wrinkles are less noticeable. I use to smoke a lot and have been quite surprised how the lines above my lip have decreased. I have extremely dry skin and have found that this keeps my face feeling moisturized now. I don’t need to apply extra moisturizer on my face now. Skinceuticals Lipid Restore 2:4:2 does what it claims!
  2. Katherine Keter

My daughter recommended Skinceuticals Lipid Restore 2:4:2
I started using Skinceuticals Lipid Restore 2:4:2 two months ago after my daughter recommended it to me. The product has worked perfectly for her. Since we have similar skin types, we figured that it might work well for me too. I am extremely impressed by how my skin feels now. I think at first I expected that the product would sting, but I haven’t had that effect. I hate it when I have heavy ingredients on my skin because they make it feel uncomfortable. Skinceuticals Lipid Restore 2:4:2 is very light and doesn’t irritate at all. I have only used it for 10 weeks and my skin already feels softer and more hydrated. I believe that I will experience even better results if I continue using Skinceuticals Lipid Restore 2:4:2.
  3. Kennedy Clark

Works well for my dry skin
I have always had dry skin, and finding products that would work well for my skin type wasn’t the easiest thing. Lately, I discovered Skinceuticals Lipid Restore 2:4:2 and I am pleased with the results. Skinceuticals Lipid Restore 2:4:2 is an anti-aging product that slows down the signs of aging by giving the user a rejuvenated look. It’s been twelve weeks since I started using Skinceuticals Lipid Restore 2:4:2 and it hasn’t irritated my skin at all. I don’t get the dry or red patches that other products usually leave on the skin. I am also realizing huge benefits with regards to how my skin feels. I usually apply the serum after exfoliating and it leaves my skin glowing and illuminating. I actually don’t need to wear makeup nowadays.
  4. Rachel Putilova

    Works amazingly well, highly recommended
I was kinda deceptive about using it, but I would say this is a magic cream it works amazingly on my skin I can feel the texture no mess using my fingers so easy to apply, something that I really like’s that it doesn’t have any fragrance that irritates my skin since the first time I used it I saw the results it plumped my wrinkles and my skin feels super smooth.
  5. Rachel M.

    This stuff is perfect!
Finally, a cream that does exactly what it says!! I love how I can wear it without putting makeup on and it makes me look fresh. And when I do wear makeup it makes my concealer go on smooth!
  6. Kay Nelson

    Really nice cream
I found this cream to be very helpful in my attempt to get rid of fine lines & wrinkles. For the few days of use that I had with my free sample, I was very pleased with the results. Thank you for letting me have a chance to try this.
