Overview

The skin around our eyes is especially sensitive. It’s the thinnest skin on the face and tends to show the first signs of aging wrinkles, fine lines, puffiness, and dryness. When the skin around your eyes is compromised, it can quickly give away your age.

But some people manage to keep their eye area looking youthful, and for many, it’s all about finding the right skincare product. Today, we’re taking a closer look at LumiBalm, an eye cream that claims to address these very issues. Using a natural formula, LumiBalm is designed to hydrate, nourish, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and dark circles.

Its portable stick form makes it easy to use on the go. The big question is: does LumiBalm actually work as promised? In this review, we’ll go over what LumiBalm claims to do, its ingredients, and what real customers have said about it. Our goal is to give you an honest, fact-based review so you can decide if this product is right for you.

What is LumiBalm?

LumiBalm is a skincare product that focuses on providing hydration and nourishment to the skin around the eyes. It comes in stick form, and the company that makes it says it’s portable and convenient to use whenever your eyes could use a little touch-up.

LumiBalm may benefit consumers who deal with dark circles around their eyes, dry skin around their eyes, a crepe-like texture, or who simply want to have younger-looking eyes. The formula is made of ingredients that are rather common in skincare products.

This product is also said to reduce the puffiness in the skin around the eyes. For the most part, people use LumiBalm to improve the appearance of their skin and to help prevent future wrinkles and fine lines.

Who is the Manufacturer of LumiBalm?

The company behind LumiBalm doesn’t provide a lot of information about themselves, and in fact, they don’t even seem to have an official website anymore. They make bold claims about the product, but there’s not much out there regarding their background or operations.

What we do know is that LumiBalm, along with a variety of other beauty products, is sold exclusively through third-party retail sites like Amazon and Walmart.

This suggests that while the brand doesn’t have a central online presence, it still manages to maintain some level of trust and visibility through these popular platforms. However, without an official website, it’s hard to assess the full reputation of the brand or its commitment to customer service.

How Does LumiBalm Work?

To understand how LumiBalm might work for you, it would be helpful to understand how inflammation affects skin. Inflammation in the skin occurs in response to major or minor injuries. It often manifests itself as some form of irritation on the skin, like redness, itching, or rash.

While inflammation is a healthy immune system response to injuries, it can leave permanent marks on your skin. LumiBalm is supposed to work by offsetting the effects of chronic skin inflammation. So it may help by expediting the healing process for your skin and reducing overall inflammation.

For instance, LumiBalm contains turmeric extract, which has been observed to contain potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Still, the anti-inflammatory effects of LumiBalm are likely to manifest themselves in different ways for different users.

LumiBalm Ingredients – Are They Safe & Effective?

Here, we take a look at what science has to say about the LumiBalm ingredients:

Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin is a natural carotenoid that has displayed anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities in clinical trials. This has led researchers to believe that Astaxanthin could prevent certain signs of skin aging, like sun spots. However, the PubMed staff points out that:

“Many of the studies were also funded by commercial entities, with potential conflicts of interest.”

Retinol

Retinol is a topical form of vitamin A and is used in many skincare products for its purported anti-wrinkle and elasticity-boosting properties. There have also been studies that suggest thatRretinol can stimulate the production of collagen. Still, the Harvard Health team points out that:

However, it takes three to six months of regular use before improvements in wrinkles are apparent—and the best results take six to 12 months.

Cera Alba

Cera alba is essentially beeswax, and it is commonly used in skincare products because of its apparent moisturizing effects. Cera alba is sometimes also used as a disinfectant and antibacterial ingredient. It may also contain flavonoids that may provide antioxidant defense for the skin.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid has displayed the ability to enhance the natural moisture barrier of the skin. As a humectant, it can hold many times its own weight in water. However, larger Hyaluronic Acid molecules cannot penetrate the skin, and it is unclear what spectrum of hyaluronic acid molecules was used for this product.

Turmeric

The active compound in Turmeric extract is Curcumin, which is a potent antioxidant that has demonstrated multiple skin benefits such as photoprotection and anti-wrinkle effects. The PubMed staff has stated that there needs to be more studies on Turmeric’s effects on skin to confirm its efficacy.

How to Use LumiBalm?

  • Cleanse Your Face: Start by washing your face to remove any dirt, makeup, or impurities.
  • Apply LumiBalm: Gently apply the balm to the area around your eyes using soft, circular motions.

For best results, apply LumiBalm once in the morning and again in the evening.

Benefits of LumiBalm

  • Anti-Wrinkle Effects – LumiBalm may diminish the look of your current wrinkles and prevent new ones from forming. However, this product may not work well for deep-seated wrinkles.
  • Antioxidant Defense – LumiBalm may also offset some of the damaging effects of free radical cells on the skin. This effect may reduce the rate at which your skin accumulates blemishes.
  • Soothing Effects – Based on what we know about the LumiBalm formula, ingredients like Turmeric and Astaxanthin may have soothing effects on the skin and limit overall skin irritation.

Side Effects of LumiBalm

Some users have reported side effects after using LumiBalm. For example, one person mentioned that her eyes became puffier than usual. While LumiBalm is generally gentle, individual reactions may vary, especially for those with sensitive skin. It’s always advisable to discontinue use if you experience irritation or discomfort.

Safety of LumiBalm

LumiBalm contains natural ingredients, but as with any skincare product, it’s important to consider how your skin may react. Since the product isn’t guaranteed to be processed in sterile conditions, consulting with a dermatologist before and after use is recommended, especially for individuals with sensitive or allergy-prone skin.

Product Price of LumiBalm

The price for LumiBalm on popular 3rd party retail sites like Amazon and Walmart, is about $7 per tube. Keep in mind, though, that this price is likely to vary depending on the vendor you buy LumiBalm from.

What Do the LumiBalm Customer Reviews Say?

Next, we take a look at what real users have had to say about LumiBalm:

I picked because it said it did wonderful things for under-eye bags. Not true!!! It may hydrate under your eyes but does nothing to alleviate eye bags –Veronica

Did not work on my eyes. Puffed them out more. –Hazel

I love how moisturizing this is! I’m not sure how much of a difference it makes with the claims, but I can say that my eye area isn’t as dry and puffy as they usually seem since using this! It’s soothing and gentle and I like that. –Cheryl

LumiBalm Conclusion

For some consumers, LumiBalm seems to work. In these situations, LumiBalm has produced a positive change in the appearance of the user’s skin. Some people have even said that they can feel the improved hydration.

There have also been people who have said that LumiBalm did not produce any sort of positive change in their skin. There are also some ingredients that have not been proven to be beneficial for the skin.

That’s why we recommend taking a look at other eye creams before making a final decision on LumiBalm.

As we age the composition, texture and appearance of our skin changes. Signs of skin aging include wrinkles, fine lines, loss of moisture, uneven tone and dull, tired-looking skin. There are countless anti-wrinkle creams on the market promising to make skin look and feel younger. Many anti-wrinkle creams promise everything short of a facelift or to provide the much sought after "fountain of youth". In reality most are just moisturizers marketed as anti-aging products.

Below you'll find some of the most effective wrinkle serum/cream formulations on the market today, in our opinion.

Great for hydration, not much else.
I’ve been using LumiBalm for a couple of weeks now. It definitely hydrates the skin around my eyes, which is a plus, but I haven’t noticed much reduction in puffiness or wrinkles. It’s a good moisturizer, but I’m not sure it’s doing all that was promised.
