Overview

Skincare has become a key part of many people lives. And one of the aspects of skincare that most of the people are facing now is anti-aging. Fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone can make you feel self-conscious about your appearance.

DIME TBT Serum offers a solution to tackle these signs of aging while keeping your skin hydrated. It uses ingredients like bakuchiol and mandelic acid to refresh your skin.

This serum exfoliates through skin hydration and radiance. Though it may not offer overnight miracles, it’s a solid product for gradual improvement. In this review we will see whether it is a good choice if you’re a person with skincare or not.

What is DIME TBT® Serum?

DIME TBT Serum is an anti-aging facial serum that claims to exfoliate and hydrate the skin. This serum says it can improve skin texture and reduce visible signs of aging.

TBT Serum by DIME is designed for use on the face and neck. DIME claims the serum works as a leave-on exfoliant and uses ingredients such as mandelic acid, bakuchiol, resveratrol, and niacinamide to enhance its effect. DIME TBT Serum is marketed as a suitable serum for all skin types, which makes it an option for individuals looking to address skin issues like fine lines, uneven texture, wrinkles, and skin dullness.

Its formulation is presented as a lightweight and hydrating serum, which, according to DIME, can be integrated into both morning and evening skincare routines. But are all these claims true? The remaining sections of this review will shed more light on this.

About the Brand

DIME TBT Serum is manufactured by DIME, a company that claims to focus on creating clean, vegan, and cruelty-free skincare products. It claims its formulas are free from harmful chemicals such as parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

Based in the USA, DIME claims it is dedicated to producing ethical skincare solutions and ensures safety by using ingredients supported by the Environmental Working Group (EWG).

DIME emphasizes clean beauty while positioning its products as approachable luxury. However, its products are expensive and primarily sold online, which may not be convenient for customers who prefer in-store purchases to properly check the product.

How Does DIME TBT® Serum Work?

DIME TBT Serum works by combining exfoliating and hydrating ingredients that aim to improve skin texture and combat visible signs of aging. The serum’s key active ingredients (Mandelic acid, Bakuchiol, and Resveratrol) may be able to promote healthier-looking skin.

Mandelic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), is known for its ability to reduce fine lines and uneven pigmentation. Niacinamide is popular for soothing and brightening the dark areas of the skin. Bakuchiol also promotes complexion without the irritation often associated with traditional retinoids like retinol.

Also, Resveratrol is a potent antioxidant claimed to protect the skin from free radical damage while smoothing the appearance of fine lines.

While the serum combines these ingredients for anti-aging effects, its results may depend on individual skin types and consistency of use.

DIME TBT® Serum Ingredients: Are They Safe & Effective?

Mandelic Acid

Mandelic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), is included in DIME TBT Serum for its gentle exfoliating properties. It promotes cell turnover, which may help improve uneven skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

As highlighted in our Allies of Skin Review (another serum that has this ingredient), mandelic acid is also known for being less irritating compared to other AHAs, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin. A study in Molecules shows its potential to improve hyperpigmentation and skin clarity. However, the dose affects its safety.

Sheau-Chung Tang (Department of Biochemistry, School of Medicine, Tzu Chi University) and his colleagues assert in their report, We conclude that whether AHA is a friend or foe of human skin depends on its concentration.

Resveratrol

Resveratrol, a plant-based antioxidant, is included in the serum to help protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by environmental factors like UV radiation and pollution. The Scientific Research Publishing finds that this ingredient may also aid in smoothing fine lines and improving skin firmness.

Our WOWMD Resveratrol Review (another supplement containing this ingredient) mentions how resveratrol protects cellular structures from oxidative damage. This makes it good for antiaging.

Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol is a plant-derived alternative to retinol. It is known to help improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines. As noted in clinical trial findings published in the British Journal of Dermatology, bakuchiol is comparable with retinol in its ability to reduce premature aging due to UV radiation. But unlike retinol, it is gentle on the skin, making it a suitable option for those with sensitivity.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3, is known for its ability to improve skin barrier function and reduce redness. DIME TBT Serum may help soothe irritated skin while enhancing hydration and brightening dull areas. A study in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science shows niacinamide’s role in reducing fine lines and evening out skin tone.

I used that the serum didn’t irritate my sensitive skin, but I didn’t see any significant improvement in my skin tone or wrinkles. It was fine for hydration but didn’t do much else. – Lucylu

DIME TBT® Serum Review: Conclusion

DIME TBT Serum claims to improve skin texture, reduce visible signs of aging, and promote a brighter complexion with its clean and vegan formula. Its inclusion of mandelic acid, bakuchiol, and resveratrol offers promising anti-aging benefits, and the brand’s commitment to ethical skincare practices may appeal to conscious consumers.

However, customer reviews are mixed, with some users praising its hydrating effects while others reported irritation or dissatisfaction with the product’s scent. Also, the serum is relatively expensive, and since it comes in a small 30 mL bottle, users will have to buy it frequently. These costs add up.

That said, while DIME TBT Serum may work well for some, its inconsistent results and high price suggest it might not be the ideal solution for everyone.

As we age the composition, texture and appearance of our skin changes. Signs of skin aging include wrinkles, fine lines, loss of moisture, uneven tone and dull, tired-looking skin. There are countless anti-wrinkle creams on the market promising to make skin look and feel younger. Many anti-wrinkle creams promise everything short of a facelift or to provide the much sought after "fountain of youth". In reality most are just moisturizers marketed as anti-aging products.

Below you'll find some of the most effective wrinkle serum/cream formulations on the market today, in our opinion.

  1. Kevin S.

Decent serum, but results were subtle.
After a month of use, my skin feels softer, but the improvement in wrinkles is minimal. It’s a nice product if you are looking for something hydrating, but it did not deliver the anti-aging results I was expecting. It’s fine, just did not live up to the hype for me.
  2. Clara Vinton

Dime Tbt serum didn’t deliver for me
I used DIME TBT Serum, 3-5 drops morning and night, for six weeks. My skin felt slightly softer, but fine lines and dark spots barely changed. The texture was nice, but the odd nutty smell was off-putting. Mild redness occurred initially. At $38 for 1 oz, it’s pricey for minimal results, even with a 60-day return policy. I won’t repurchase.
