Among the participants, 50 men were suffering from atherosclerotic ED, 28 from borderline ED, while 65 others were suffering from non-atherosclerotic ED. The average level of vitamin D in their blood level was 21.3ng/mL and 20.2% of the men had more vitamin D with over 30ng/mL. The majority of the participants had a deficiency of vitamin D with less than 20ng/mL.
The result revealed that the ED patients who lacked vitamin D level in their blood are the ones suffering from severe ED, and others were suffering from mild to moderate ED. The atherosclerotic ED patients were the ones with worst deficiency of vitamin D level in comparison to other ED patients.
The study concluded that the erectile dysfunction is closely associated with erectile dysfunction. And the ED patients should have their vitamin D3 level checked. The optimum level of vitamin D3 can enhance endothelial function, which can reduce or prevent erectile dysfunction.
