You’ve probably heard of the castor oil, olive oil, or coconut oil trick, but most of you probably haven’t heard that lip balm also has the same effect these lash growth oils have on the eyelashes.

It is even presented to you in a nice and tidy container. Lip balm for eyelashes works by moisturizing dry and brittle lashes.
By giving your lashes the proper nourishment and hydration it needs, you are ensured that they will stay natural and healthy for long.
Listed below are the steps in using a lip balm on your lashes.
1. Washing Your Makeup Off
Before you put lip balm on your lashes, it is important that you remove all the cosmetic products on your face first such as mascara and eye makeup. Many women rely on the magic of mascara since this opens up the eyes and define the eyelashes.
However, many forget to take their mascara off every night. The eyelashes, like normal hair on your scalp, can dry up and become brittle if not properly cared for.
This could lead to breakage, and your lashes can become weak and will start to fall off.
This could also lead to an eye infection since sleeping with your mascara on (or any eye product for that matter) heightens the probability of you rubbing it into your eyes.
Before going to sleep, washing your face is not enough since most eye make-up is produced to be waterproof.
The important thing to note in eye make-up removal is that there is no rush. There is no need to tug on the eyelashes in order to remove the mascara.
Simply take a cotton ball and an eye makeup remover or, if you want something more organic, olive oil, then gently rub onto your lash area.
Always remember to use different cotton balls per eye area to lessen the risk of spreading impurities.
2. Get it All Over
Apply the lip balm as you would on your lips. Apply directly to your lashes.
It is also important to note that applying lip balm not only on your lashes but also at the base of it is extremely important.
Applying the lip balm on the base of your lashes also ensures that the follicle or the base of your lashes remain strong and hydrated.

3. Flavor
It has been shown that lip balms that have flavors or fragrances work best on your lashes. The great thing about this is, not only do your lashes have a great curl to them, but they smell fantastic too! It’s a win-win situation, how great is that?

4. Sleep on it
Sleep with the lip balm on your eyes. A great idea would be to cover your eyes using a silk sleep mask to ensure that you don’t end up getting it on your hands.
This also ensures that your lashes get the most moisture out of your lip balm application.
5. Wash it Off
Remember to wash it off in the morning. Your lashes will look and feel great!
6. Keep it on During the Day
Apply another layer of lip balm once you’re squeaky clean. Apply at least 2 layers of lip balm before you apply your mascara in the morning.
This will not only give your lashes the moisture it needs during the day, but it also gives you curlier lashes.
