You would be shocked to learn that people have actually become more accepting of little girls using false eyelashes. If you turn on your television you are bound to watch a show where little girls not more than seven years old are prancing about in beauty pageants wearing all kinds of makeup and even false eyelashes.
Gone are the days when kids and even young pre-teen girls were free from the worries of makeup and lip-gloss and all of the supposedly womanly stuff. Nowadays girls around 13 years of age make a habit out of using false eyelashes.
So basically to answer your question, a lot of people nowadays think that as long as they can speak and stand up by themselves then they can put a false eyelash on kids at least on special occasions.
And when you think about it, there isn’t really much to worry about since most of these false eyelashes are safe for use. With the proper guidance of a parent present, using false eyelashes can be a breeze.
Now we go to the question of reusing a false eyelash. The general rule regarding continuous wearing of false eyelashes or to reuse eyelashes is to do what you want. A lot of women actually reuse their falsies. However, it is important to make sure that those lashes are clean.
You can get eye infections from dirty falsies coming into contact with your eyes. This is an extremely important point to make as preteens and kids alike can be a little bit careless.
Always remind them of proper hygiene practices but to be on the safer side maybe it’s best to use a new one every special occasion.
Now we can settle the question of using false eyelashes every day to school. Aside from the obvious hassle of having falsies on 24/7, which we honestly think kids in junior high won’t like, there are also the safety hazards. One thing to consider is the eyelash glue.
Eyelash glue is an adhesive that is normally used to attach and stick false eyelashes to the face. Usually, eyelashes come with their own prepackaged eyelash glue but it is more advisable to have your personal eyelash glue that you already patch tested on your skin. This lessens the chances of any allergic reaction to any eyelash glue.
Aside from this, eyelash adhesives are also ideal to use when gluing anything to the body for any costume purposes. You can glue stuff to your body or maybe sequins to your face. Since it is safe enough to use on a sensitive area such as the eye region, then it is safe to say that you can use this in other body parts.
So to sum it all up, it is perfectly safe to have girls around 11 or 13 years of age use false eye lashes especially on special occasions such as pictorials, pageants and even school dances if you trust them enough. It will always boil down to your practice as a parent.
When it comes to daily wear however, if your kid is still in junior high then maybe it is best to have them take baby steps. Instead of false eyelashes why don’t you encourage them to use mascara at least for now? Kids are not kids forever and the sooner you let them try all these grown up things the sooner they’ll stop enjoying being kids. That’s something to take note.
