Time to throw a good healthy party for your friends. If you are looking forward to having a dozen of guests running around, this must be your first time throwing a party. If you are getting ready and planning every little detail possible, then you have done this already. A good party is an excellent opportunity for you to try and establish some healthy habits for your friends.
Instead of having a party filled with unhealthy snacks, sugary sodas and sitting around, you should throw a healthy party full of activities, healthy snacks.
Snack Time
Try avoiding junk food when planning a party, so stay away from sugary foods and snacks with saturated fats. It doesn’t have to be anything special, go with simple snacks that everybody loves like bananas, strawberries, carrots, just some vegetables and fruits. Make chocolate covered fruits, peel some bananas and dip them into melted chocolate (dark chocolate had less sugar) and then roll them into some dried fruits.
Steer clear of mayo, ranch and other unhealthy dips, go with a healthier option like hummus, avocado dip or tomato salsa. This way your healthy party will have the true meaning of healthy.
Healthy Beverages

If you want to avoid feeling down after that sugar high ends, then you might want to opt for some healthier options in the drinks department. Make some fruit punch, mix together some orange juice, lemonade and some cold tea, and adjust the quantity so there is enough for everybody.
Consider fake fizzy drinks, simply mix some juices with sparkling water and your guests won’t notice the difference and it is much healthier for them. If you have a juicer serve some freshly squeezed juice, it doesn’t get much healthier than that. Just add some twisty straws or cocktail umbrellas to those drinks and everybody will jump on those.
The Venue
Your party plan will probably depend a lot on the venue of it, is it an outdoor party or an indoor one. If you decided on having a party in your own home, you could simply sit everybody at the dining table. Make sure you use plastic cups and plates, it is very likely that there will be dropped plates or two or spilled juice.
On the other hand, if you choose an outdoor party, for example, a nearby park simply bring all the food and drinks with you in food boxes and use disposable plates and cups. You don’t have to clean them after and you can simply throw everything in the trash after the party is over.
Fun Activities

You might be tired from all the party planning, but if your guests are bringing kids, they sure aren’t. They have a whole lot of extra energy to burn and if you don’t want them climbing on top of your head, make sure to plan some activities that will keep them occupied.
If you are having an indoor party you could go with musical chairs, it is simple and easy to set up. For outdoors a soccer ball will suffice, you can divide them into teams set up a field and let the kids play. Or if the kids really like jumping take them on a trip to one of those trampoline parks, it will tire them out for sure.
Better Safe than Sorry
Make sure to ask if anyone that will attend the party has allergies. If somebodies religion or allergies don’t allow them certain foods, they will probably let you know themselves. But it is always nice to ask and be safe about it.
Always go for BPA free plastic containers and cups, BPA is a chemical that can be found in plastics that the birthday cups and plates are made of.
Research has shown that BPA can seep into the food and drinks from the containers made of BPA. BPA is linked to high blood pressure and can affect brain and behavior of children, infants, and adults.
Planning a healthy party for your guests can be really simple. Just stick to some fun activities we mentioned above, and prepare healthy snacks that everybody will love and serve them juicy beverages that won’t result in a sugar crash.
