Bio Oil Overview

Stretch marks or striae are red, purple, or pink streaks on the skin often appearing on the abdominal, breast, upper arm, or thigh areas. After some time, it eventually fades into a grayish or silvery streak.

It is directly caused by sudden weight gain wherein the skin expands considerably causing parts of the dermis to break. Some factors that lead to the development of stretch marks include genetics, medication, and certain conditions.

There are several treatments available but the use of topical formulations is by far the most popular. In this article, we will be reviewing one of the most popular remedies for stretch marks. The formulation is a blend of vitamins and plant extracts that are suspended in oil bases. It is non-greasy and light to ensure that the formulation can easily be absorbed by the skin.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT, USED IT FOR YEARS
I left another review but wanted to add to it. When I first started using this product, I experienced acne. However, what was happening was that it was bringing impurities to the surface, and once I got through that phase, my face never looked better—more youthful and moisturized. I’ve been told I look 10-15 years younger. I’m 51, with no wrinkles except between my eyebrows. Try this product, you’ll love it!

USED FOR YEARS, LOOK 15 YRS YOUNGER THAN MY AGE
I’ve been using Bio-oil for years and absolutely love it. I struggle with staying hydrated, but this product has consistently kept my face looking young. Despite being 51, I’m often told I look 35-40. I’ve experimented with other products, but none seem to compare. It’s definitely worth the investment, especially considering that a large bottle lasts for years when used exclusively on my face.
  3. Nellam

    I think I like it!
I have been using it on the aftermath of an awful skin rash on my arms that happened 3 weeks ago which left them dry and very scaly. It is soothing and leaves the skin feeling very smooth, almost to the origional feel. We’ll see what happens as I go forward.
  4. Liz

Love it, smooths out fine wrinkles, helps soothe & heal dishpan hands.
I love this stuff, a little goes a long way which makes it even better. At my age, 70, I have lots of fine wrinkles along with the bigger ones.

Applying Bio-oil right after showering really helps seal in moisture as well as adding non-greasy oils to my skin keeping it soft. Then, I’ll top it off with a light covering of CeraVe lotion to seal it in.

I also use it on my hands (same method) as needed if they’re reddened, rough, and irritated from cleaning & washing. It instantly soothes and by the next day, my hands are much, much better…almost back to normal.

The price is quite reasonable considering that just a few drops cover my face & neck.

  5. Maggie

    Disappointment with Bio-Oil Gel
I recently purchased Bio-Oil Gel, as I love Bio-Oil. Well, the jar even though not opened was leaking through the sealant strip around the jar, so because I live in north Queensland, I thought I must have to keep it in the fridge. Guess what still oil, not gel. In the future, I will purchase the original product that I have bought often for over 30years. I will continue to use this product, however, I wanted gel, not oil.
  6. Marsha

    I LOVE Bio-Oil!
I have used Bio-Oil for 1 week 2-3 times daily on my face to help with crows feet & wrinkles & let me tell you I ALREADY see a big difference…& my skin is so soft & smooth…it also is starting to even out the small uneven skin tone area I have…I LOVE it…been using it for about a year for a scar but just decided to try it as skincare for my face….my verdict is…I do NOT regret it…Bio-Oil user for life here! It is truly a great product! Thank you Bio-Oil for creating a wonderful smelling product that actually works!
  7. tay

Bio oil is my #1 beauty product!
I used bio oil on my face for weeks to cure dry skin, uneven skin tone, and acne scars. It did exactly that. After a couple of weeks of using it 2 or more times a day, my skin was radiant. It was bright, soft, and my scars were less noticeable. I don’t think I could ever not use bio oil now.
  8. Renuka

    Makes skin dry and rough
I used bio oil hoping that it will cure uneven skin tone. But I have got an adverse effect. Using it for just two days made my face skin extremely dry and rough. Skin becomes very rough and rigid.
  9. sarita

    Not good
I have been using this oil from last 45 days on my face…but my face gets dull and more rashes, redness and spots appear now.
