Cardiac problems are labeled as silent killers; they stab silent and kill the person. The individual doesn’t get the time to know what exactly happened to him. According to research, 1 in 4 deaths in the US is caused by cardiac problems. The sad part is we neglect early symptoms of cardiac arrest. We find it very normal whereas it can be life-taking.
In this blog, we are going to discuss the different types of cardiac problems along with their solutions. However, one basic solution is to get ACLS recertification online classes. Under these classes, candidates are taught about how to handle the cardiac attack, how to identify such situations, and what should be the first step to tackle the situation.
Problem #1: Coronary heart disease:
One of the most common types of heart disease is coronary heart disease or you may say coronary artery disease. Also, it is known as the most dreadful heart disease. Under this coronary disease, the artery responsible to transport blood to the heart becomes clogged. The clogged arteries cause them to become narrow and harden, disturbing the blood supply. The clogged arteries are caused due to cholesterol and substances like these which latter forms in the shape of clogged; causing coronary heart disease.
Solution #1: Coronary artery bypass surgery. Under this surgery, the blood has flowed to every part of the heart when the artery is clogged or blocked. The surgeon has the option to utilize healthy blood vessels from different parts of the body to mend the blocked one. This is one of the most common surgeries used to overcome heart disease.
Problem #2: Arrhythmia
Under this disease, the individual suffers from an irregular heartbeat. This is caused when electrical impulses that need to synchronize or coordinate with the heart-beat don’t perform as required. Due to this, the individual suffers from three situations:
- Either Tachycardia; in which heartbeat is much rapid,
- Bradycardia; under which heartbeat is very slow
- Or atrial fibrillation; under which one suffers from an irregular heartbeat.
These situations can be life-threatening and can cause a huge disturbance to the sufferer. One can feel his heart fluttering or racing.
Solution #2: There are many solutions to this disease but we’ll discuss a few which are common:
- Medication: to control an irregular set of heartbeat and control the irregular rate of heartbeat. But medication won’t work in every case.
- Cardioversion: under this treatment, electric shock is given to the heart to start working properly and the heartbeat is not disturbed.
- Catheter ablation: Under this, the tissue which disturbs the heartbeat rhythm is completely destroyed.
Problem #3: Heart failure:
Under heart failure, the heart loses its ability to function properly, and hence it causes heart failure. The heart doesn’t completely stop working but it doesn’t work as it should be. Also, heart failure can be a consequence of coronary heart disease, which might have been left untreated. As we mentioned above, heart diseases need to be identified at the right time, otherwise, an individual can lose their life. These are several causes of heart failure and can be treated in several ways too!
Solution #3: Several medications and heart health supplements can treat the pain. But these medicines will not work in severe cases. If the situation gets out of hand; surgery has to be done. There are several different surgeries that can be done.
Different surgeries include:
- Replacing or repairing heart valves.
- ICD or Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators
- CRT (Cardiac resynchronization therapy) or biventricular pacing
- VADs (Ventricular assist devices)
- Heart transplant.
Other than surgeries and medication; one basic element that everyone should keep in mind is to eat healthily. Food you consume is your most important investment. It will always help you in the future. You should be very conscious of your diet. If you don’t treat your tummy well, it won’t treat you in your old-age. Add fruits and fiber to your diet. Skip oil and fats from your diet.
Exercise regularly as it keeps heart circulation balanced. Also, exercise keeps your body at a moderate weight. Being a moderate body weight is also an essential aspect to stay fit. Also, limit alcohol or cigarette intake as they increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
