Information About Mascara Wands

We all love our handy dandy mascaras. But aside from its trusty formula what does your mascara have to offer? Have you ever thought about how important mascara wands actually are? I’m pretty guilty of being oblivious to the power the mascara wand holds. If you’re guilty of this too, let’s educate ourselves, shall we?

Describe About Mascara Wands and its Significance

Mascara wands come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and we are not overstating this. Mascara wands can be curved, thin, thick, flexible, ball and even vibrating (yes, you read that right). Each and every one of those kinds of mascara wands are especially made and designed for a specific eyelash issue. Each mascara wand type is unique and is custom made for certain type of lashes.

Mascara Wands: Do They Make A Difference?

Absolutely. In order for you to really get more bang for your buck, it is best to choose a mascara formula especially made for your lashes and at the same time making sure that the mascara wand being used for the formula will help what your eyelash wants and desires. Trust us, although it sounds a bit far-fetched, there is a science to this and choosing the right mascara wand really does make a world of a difference.

What are The Different Types of Mascara Wands?

To serve as an easier reference we have listed below the most common (and maybe the not so common) mascara wands being offered in the market nowadays so that you may carefully choose which one perfectly fits you!

  • Comb Wand: Combs wands are made for women with naturally great and thick lashes that need a little bit of help in the length and definition department. You see, comb wands are exactly that, they are wands that have tiny combs at the ends of it. The comb has tiny teeth that help lengthen and define your already thick lashes. So take note, if you have sparse lashes, this might not be the one for you.
  • Ball Wand: Ball wands are not as common as the other mascara wands in this list but it does not make it any less important. Ever had trouble reaching the “tricky” parts of your lashes? I sure have! I cannot count how many times I have put on mascara and ended up with a big black mark on the inner corners of my eyes. Ball wands make it easier for you to apply your mascara in hard to reach areas such us your inner and outer corners and even your lower lashes. This sounds like the perfect mascara wand for the 60’s look, don’t you think?
  • Thick Wand: Thick wands will become your favorite chubby mascara buddies. These things are a godsend. If your mascara has a thick wand you will know. They are usually twice as thick and the bristles a little bit on the shorter side. It is usually made with synthetic fibers. If you have relatively reasonably long lashes but need a bit of thickness to add the extra oomph, then this wand is for you. Short lashes may not benefit from this as much though.
  • Thin Wand: Ahhhh, the thin wand. You probably already have mascara with this wand on. It is practically impossible to not have been able to at least use a thin wand since this is the most common of all mascara wands. If you’re looking for a no mess, no fuss kind of mascara wand then this is just the mascara wand for you. It is easy to use and offers a very light and natural look to your lashes.
  • Curved Wand: Unlike the usual stick straight wands, the curved mascara wand has a, you guessed it, a curved shape in the middle, sort of like a semi-circle. Curved wands are great from women with extremely stick straight lashes that just kind of refuse to curl up. The curved wand not only gives your lashes a more curved shape but also opens and brightens your eyes.

How Do These Wands Work?

These wands have been especially designed to cater to a certain eyelash need or dilemma. Although, we will always have our trusty thin wand to give us a pretty basic mascara application, it still best to go with a mascara wand that perfectly suits you and your lashes.

How to Choose The Right The Mascara Wand?

It is important to determine what your number of eyelash problems are. Do you have short lashes? Thin lashes? Lashes that just refuse to curl up? Once you determine what you need to improve* on then you can choose a mascara wand that would work well on your lashes.
