Prevea Health and Fitness Expo: May 15th-16th, 2015


What Is Prevea Health and Fitness Expo?

It is a 16th annual event which includes marathon and fitness expo. All proceedings from the event are donated to numerous organizations. Every nonprofit organization that receives the donation from this event also receives the support of the next three years. This year all proceedings will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Wisconsin, the Golden House (shelter for abused women), and Aspiro (job service for adults who are developmentally disabled).

The event includes fitness expo with over 80 booths where people can see the latest sports gear, running shoes. Also, visitors of the expo get free samples and free tips about fitness, exercising, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, first-time marathoners will receive valuable advice from different clinics which will participate at the event.

Besides the fitness expo, this event offers marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 5K and Power Run for kids. The official health partner of the event, Prevea, offers training runs on every Saturday morning from January until May. Additionally, Prevea came up with the training plan for all race categories.

Marathon Info

This race is organized for a charity purpose. That means if a person is unable to show up at the race they won’t get refund (it is a charity donation). All race events go through the Lambeau Field. The good news for all marathoners is that this marathon is sanctioned by USA Track and Field, which serves as a Boston marathon qualifier. The course of the marathon is not hilly, and the entire race is held on a path that is flat and fast. Marathoners will get water every 1.5 miles of the race.

The marathon course is open for 7 hours and all participants who finish it will receive the medal. Naturally, medals are different in all events. Last year’s event gathered 8000 marathoners and 200 teams in marathon relay event. This year the attendance will be even bigger.

This year’s marathon will include participants from 47 states, 62% of them are aged between 25 and 50. Female participants are a majority (59%) while 41% of participants are men.

Even though the race is for charity, 5 male and 5 female participants will receive the prize money for their effort and job well done.

Prevea Health and Fitness Expo Venue and Time

The Prevea Health and Fitness Expo will be held on Friday and Saturday (May 15th – May 16th). The launch of the expo will start at 3pm on Friday, and close on 7pm the same day. On Saturday, the events will start at 10am and the closing of the event is going to be at 7pm.

The health and fitness expo will be held at the Lambeau Field Atrium.

This year’s health and fitness expo will gather more than 20 000 visitors. All race participants will pick up their race packages at the event and they will receive medical and sports advice from experts. The events on the Expo will be broadcasted live on the local radio station.

The director of the race is Larry Lueck, who uses his role to employ local vendors. Everything that is needed for the expo and the marathon is purchased from local shops and businesses. Also, other participants of the event are marathoners, and the vendors who will show off their products.
