Overview

Natrol Cognium Tablets are a product offered by Natrol, LLC, a company known for its range of health and wellness products. The key ingredient in Cognium is CERA-Q, which is derived from silkworm cocoons. The manufacturer asserts that CERA-Q supports healthy brain function and memory.

However, questions have arisen regarding the effectiveness and safety of Cognium. In this article, we aim to address these questions by examining the scientific evidence behind Cognium’s claims and analyzing customer reviews.

We will explore the ingredients used in Cognium and assess their potential benefits for memory enhancement. Additionally, we will highlight any safety concerns associated with the product.

Our goal is to provide an objective evaluation of Natrol Cognium Tablets to help consumers make informed decisions about memory supplements. We will consider both the manufacturer’s claims and the available scientific information to offer a comprehensive overview of this product.

What is Cognium?

Natrol Cognium Tablets are memory and concentration pills sold by Natrol, LLC, which also sells a variety of health and wellness products. The product is sold in small boxes containing 60 tablets. Cognium is a memory pill created to increase memory and focus within four weeks when used as directed. It contains a special ingredient called CERA-Q, which is derived from silkworm cocoons. The manufacturer claims that CERA-Q can help support healthy brain function, boost memory, and improve focus.

But are Cognium supplements really improving memory, or are they a waste of money? Does Cognium contain any unhealthy additive ingredients? And how do real customers rate and describe the effects of Cognium memory pills?

In this article, we’ll try to answer all of these questions and analyze medical research to give our take on whether memory supplements actually work and share our concerns about the “research” backing Cognium.

About The Brand

Natrol, LLC is a well-established player in the U.S. health and wellness sector, originally founded as a cosmetics company in 1980 by Elliot Balbert. Over the years, Natrol has evolved into a recognized brand in the Vitamin, Mineral, and Supplement category, contributing to the growth of the “Nutraceuticals” industry.

Notably, Natrol is known as the leading melatonin brand in the United States, with a focus on addressing occasional sleeplessness and improving sleep quality. Natrol also boasts a Scientific Advisory Board composed of sleep experts, enhancing the credibility of its research and quality assurance efforts.

How It Works?

According to our findings, Acetylcholine, an organic substance recognized as the primary neurotransmitter of the parasympathetic nervous system, is broken down by Noocube to facilitate its functioning. As a result, you experience increased drive and focus.

One point that stands out after looking at the ingredients in Cognium is that while CERA-Q might have certain advantages, they are insufficient to support Natrol’s claims.

If you’ve come across well-known nootropic supplements, you presumably already know that the majority of them combine several crucial elements designed to improve mental function. Among these components that Cognium frequently lacks include Huperzine A, L-Tyrosine, and Bacopa monnieri.

Therefore, the presence of at least one or more of these substances in the supplement would only be preferable.

Cognium Supplement Facts

Cognium Supplement Facts

CERA-Q Powder (100mg)

Powder made from protein derived from the cocoons of silkworms. Keeps the brain from building up stores of amyloid plaque, which is being researched for its links to Alzheimer’s disease.

There is currently a lack of scientific studies examining the safety of CERA-Q Powder. No research has been conducted to determine whether this substance is safe or not. Further investigation and rigorous testing are necessary to establish the safety profile of CERA-Q Powder.

Dicalcium Phosphate

Dicalcium Phosphate is a source of calcium and phosphorus, essential minerals for overall brain health, its specific impact on cognitive function and enhancement remains uncertain.

Microcrystalline Cellulose

Microcrystalline cellulose used as pharmaceutical excipient. Used to bind and fill formulations. The high-quality wood pulp has been hydrolyzed, purified, and dried.

A new study by Laudisi et al. shows that consuming maltodextrin, a common food additive, can lead to intestinal inflammation. This suggests that maltodextrin may be a risk factor for chronic inflammatory diseases. The study found that maltodextrin exacerbated intestinal inflammation in murine models of colitis, linked to stress in the endoplasmic reticulum and changes in the protective mucus layer. While the impact on the microbiota was not significant, more subtle effects require further investigation.[1]

Maltodextrin

According to journal Critical Reviews In Food Science and NutritionMaltodextrin[2] used to dilute substances, works as a coating agent, increases calorie levels in oral supplements, and increases viscosity in certain products.

Stearic Acid

The study by PLoS One. in PubMed Central found that consuming stearic acid in the diet led to a significant reduction in visceral fat. It also improved glucose handling and decreased leptin levels. The mechanism involved apoptosis of preadipocytes. Further research is needed to understand the specific genes and molecules involved. Reduction of visceral fat through dietary interventions like stearic acid could have potential health benefits, but more studies are required.[3]

Magnesium Stearate

According to a study published in PubMed Central by Toxicol Rep, Magnesium Stearate is a commonly used ingredient in many dietary supplements, powders, and a variety of food products. It is generally considered safe for consumption. The Japanese government approved the use of magnesium stearate based on these studies, and international committees confirmed its safety.[4]

Glycerin

Used to improve athletic performance and prevent water loss. The same ingredient is used in Max DHA dietary supplements.

Cognium FAQ’s

Q: How Should You Take Cognium?

A: It should be taken one pill in the morning and one pill at night. You should take Cognium with your day and night after meals.

Q: Who Should Not Take Cognium?

A: As claimed by the manufacturer, Cognium does not appear to cause any nasty side effects, it is important to note that it acts somewhat differently from many other nootropic supplements on the market.

Other nootropics cause short-term improvements in cognitive function immediately after consumption. However, Cognium aims to cause lasting changes in the brain, which requires prolonged use.

With this in mind, for anyone who is after a quick memory boost, or some focus enhancement (for example, before an exam), then you should probably look for a different type of brain-stimulating supplement.

Q: Does Cognium Work?

A: According to manufacturer, results were typically noticed in 3–4 weeks. Yet, as every human being differs, individual results will vary. While some people might see effects after just three weeks, others might not see results until four weeks have passed. A money-back guarantee is included with Cognium so you can test it out risk-free.

Q: How Much does Cognium cost?

A: The single bottle of Natrol cognium memory pills is sold for $19 on Amazon and Walmart.

Q: What are similar products to Cognium?

A: Alpha Brain, Reviva Brain and Cebria are some products available in the market with similar benefits.

Q: What are the possible Natrol Cognium Side Effects?

A: According to the Cognium Natrol reviews the possible side effects include headache, dizziness, feeling anxious or nervous, vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation, increased sweating, and nausea.

Q: Is cognium Safe Supplement?

A: At this time, it’s difficult to say whether or not Cognium is safe for everyone who takes it because there haven’t been enough long-term studies done yet to prove its efficacy in humans over time. The few available studies have shown promising results but they were limited in scope and only tested short-term effects of the product on small groups of people. However, since no serious adverse reactions have been reported by users thus far it may be worth considering trying out cognium memory pills.

Q: What Is Cognium Money back Guarantee, Return & Refund Policy?

A: The policy on the official company website says that if you are not satisfied with the product for any reason, they will give you your money back.

Q: Where to buy Cognium?

A: ‘Cognium’ can be purchased through their Official WebSite and other e-commerce sites like Amazon and Walmart.

Cognium Review – Final Verdict

Cognium is an innovative brain enhancement product including CERA-Q powder, which contains proteins derived from silkworm cocoons.

Research has shown these proteins are effective in the fight against amyloid plaque buildup that could cause degenerative brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

In addition, nine studies have been performed on the product. The product is backed by a return policy, but cannot be directly purchased through the manufacturer’s website. A variety of products is tested independently and directly available from their manufacturers.

We can conclude that the available research on the ingredients of Cognium may be insufficient to conclusively prove their effectiveness in improving brain function.

More than ever people of all ages are struggling with memory problems. People are unable to disconnect from their work, while students are under immense pressure to perform. Brains are overloaded with information that must be remembered. A quality memory enhancement product might contain clinically proven ingredients that will help to enhance not only memory, but also focus and night concentration. Memory products might help to optimize overall mental health and brain function.

Below you'll find some of the most effective memory products on the market today, in our opinion.

My review for Cognium brain enhancement supplement
I’ve been using Cognium by Natrol for the last few months, this supplement is less expensive than other nootropics products now waiting for the results and hope it will work for me!
  2. Bruce

    It Works as stated
Cognium is slightly difficult to swallow but definitely worth the hassle. It took about 3 weeks but my memory recall has greatly improved so I believe it can only get better with time!
  3. James Thorne

    Cognium for dementia?
Currently, have dementia, will this product help in its progression? Will this product improve my situation, and/or delay its progression.
  4. Margaux P

Pill is a bit difficult to swallow, but I’ll keep using because it works
I agree with all the previous reviews here which say that cognium indeed benefits one’s mental abilities. I’ve been using this supplement for a few months now and I was able to experience its effects first-hand. I’m more alert and focused since I started taking it. However, as with any other supplements, cognium is not a perfect product. It has some flaws too. For me, the pill a little difficult to swallow. I don’t know if it’s the size, but it’s not as slick as other capsules or tablets. But that’s just a minor issue. I will continue using the product because it works.
  5. Edward N.

Give it at least a month and you’ll see.
This product works for me, someone who’s already in his 70s and having a hard time remembering people, dates, and addresses. Normally, I would have to concentrate really hard to recall something but since I started cognium, my memory has noticeably improved. My focus on doing tasks are also much better. It took a month before I felt the improvements but that’s how supplements really work, don’t they? Besides, the effects are worth the wait, so much so that I’m already thinking about my next purchase. I definitely recommend that you try this.
  6. Madison H

    Delayed results....
I work as a statistician, and I’m expected to perform a lot of computations and remember a lot of data. I have not been up to the task of late, and I tend to forget hence affecting my work performance. As an employee who wants to thrive in the workplace, I sort out to see a medical practitioner to know whether I could get a solution for my memory and in turn, improve productivity and concentration. My doctor recommended Cognium, which seemed safe enough, so I purchased them. It took quite several weeks to see results. The long wait was agonizing, and my productivity was relatively low during the weeks I waited to see Cognium efficacy. I was looking forward to seeing an overall improvement in my brain health within the first week, and that was not the case.
  7. Paola S.

This is not a paid review. I bought cognium and had positive results.
Cognium works better than the doctor-prescribed nootropic I was using. In fact, it is the only stuff that made a difference for me. It improved not just my short-term memory, but other brain things like alertness, attention, focus, and concentration as well. I’m taking this product exactly as indicated on the label for more than a month now and my forgetfulness seems to have reduced. Brain fog is also lessened. Overall, this is an excellent product and I’m very satisfied. It changed my life in so many great ways. I will definitely buy this again.
  8. Edwin R.

Not a smart pill, but works great
Let me start this review by saying that cognium isn’t some sort of “smart pill” that you see in the movies. I’m trying to be objective here so believe me when I say it works. Not miraculously, but it helps in accomplishing my daily tasks at work. First, It improved my memory, making me able to recall things with much less effort. It also improved my focus and reduced brain fog. It’s difficult to quantify how much my mental abilities have improved, but I know there’s an improvement. If you wish to reap the same benefits as mine, follow the dosage and be consistent in using it.
  9. Zara F

My grandpa seems to like it
My grandpa was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, and after doing research online I decided to purchase a bottle of Cognium for him since it said it could help to reduce the buildup of amyloid proteins in the brain. I don’t know how true the claim is, but he does seem to be more lucid on days that he drinks a supplement compared to when he was not using anything. His physician also prescribed meds that could be the real reason he’s had better days, but I feel better knowing that this might be helping him. I will likely purchase another bottle.
  10. Lidia R Miyares Verified User

I truly believe this product works.
I took a test from a book I took two years prior and made a 92.

I recommended to all of my friends and family.
