Skin tags are benign tumors that look like tiny flaps on the skin’s surface. They usually grow on the face, underarms, neck, groin, or chest.
These little growths are completer with fibers, ducts, fat cells, and even nerve cells. These are harmless according to medical standards. But they can inflict damage on a person’s self-esteem.
There are a lot of treatments available for this condition. However, most insurance policies don’t cover these medical cures.
But no need to worry, because there are natural home remedies that could help you get rid of these skin tags.
Two of these natural treatments involve oils. You must dilute oil before you apply it directly on your skin.
If the skin tag is near your eyes, it is best to let a doctor handle it.
Here are three natural remedies that will do the job:
1. Tea Tree Oil
This oil lets you effectively remove* your skin tags painlessly. It has antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties. It can effectively dry out skin tag and make it fall off naturally.
Tea tree is also called Melaleuca. It has been used for hundreds or even thousands of years, especially the Australian aborigines. Most Australian doctors of the 20th century prefer tea tee oil as the antiseptic of their choice.
To remove* your skin tags with tea tree, wash the affected part of your skin using soap and water. Pat that area dry. And then dip a q-tip in tea tree oil. Apply it on your skin tag. Cover that area with band-aid.
Put another ample amount of tea tree oil on that area two more times during the day. Change the band aide as well.
Give it some time and the skin tag will just fall off on its own. If you don’t see this happening, apply the oil on your skin more frequently.
Fresh garlic has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, which can boost* your skin health and help you remove* your skin tag. It is also a very effective natural antiseptic.
If you want to remove* your skin tag using this natural remedy, get yourself some fresh garlic, band-aids, and a knife.
Just like tea tree, you should first wash the affected using soap and water. After that make sure you get it dry. Slice the garlic into small discs the size of the skin tag. Apply the garlic disk on the affected area and cover it with band-aid.
It is vest to do this method in the morning so you can leave it on that spot for the entire day. Do this method for four to six days until the skin tag eventually falls off on its own. You can also apply the garlic before you go to bed, so you can leave it on the spot for the whole night, while you sleep.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar
This substance can get rid of your skin tag permanently. This is also a natural antiseptic.
To remove* your skin tag with this natural remedy, you should first clean the affected area. Let warm water run over the area where the skin tag is, until it becomes soft.
Soak cotton with apple cider vinegar. When the skin tag becomes soft, you can apply the apple cider on your skin tag and leave it on for 30 minutes. After that, rinse the vinegar off your skin. Do this method two to three times a day until the tag falls off.
Here are other natural remedies to take note of:
- Oregano Oil: This has thymol, p-cymene, and arvacrol, which all have very powerful antibacterial properties. Mix it with coconut oil and apply it directly on the affected area.
- Dandelion Stem Juice: This is a very effective substance against a wide range of skin problems, including skin tags. Squeeze the stem until a milky liquid comes out. Apply that on your skin and cover it with band-aid.
- Lemon Juice: This is a strong antiseptic and it has citric acid. Put the lemon juice on cotton, and apply it on the affected area.
- Fig Stem Juice: It helps level the alkaline-acid balance. Blend the fig stem to come up with the juice, and apply it on your skin four times a day.
