I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist with a Masters in Gestalt Therapy and a Masters of Sexology. I have over 20 years of experience in health care, trained both as a Registered Nurse as well as a Chinese Medical practitioner.
This has provided me with a holistic approach to therapy and a deep understanding of the mind/body connection.
During my years in health care, I became aware that many professionals were uncomfortable or ill-equipped to work with issues around sexuality. For the past 10 years, I have been committed to working with individuals and couples to explores issues related to sexual pleasure, intimacy and eroticism.
My work is strongly influenced by principles of somatic mindfulness as I believe that we need to be fully embodied if we want to fully enjoy sexual and sensual pleasures. I also have a special interest in working with trauma as I believe that most people have experienced some form of trauma during their developmental or adult years. Both personally and professionally, I have found that a somatic (body-centered) approach therapy to be a profound way of working with trauma, whilst being both safe and supportive.
