The Liposlim System seems to be a combination of three products from Absolute Nutrition. These three products are NoPhedra, F Block Fat Absorber, and C Block Carb Absorber. As their names imply, these products attempt to boost metabolism, block fat, and block carbohydrates.Buying these three products separately would make quite a dent in a customer’s wallet. Absolute Nutrition does not offer a money-back guarantee or a free trial. However, many independent retailers such as Health Superstore offer discounts if the three products are purchased together. The Absolute Nutrition website offers information about diet and exercise. They also summarize their clinical trials, but the most recent is from 2001.

The Liposlim System relies on three separate products: NoPhedra, F Block, and C Block. NoPhedra includes many of the so-called Ephedra replacements on the market. (Ephedra was banned in 2004 for health risks. The ban was overturned and then upheld in 2006). The first is Advantra Z, a patented fat burner derived from bitter orange. Bitter orange contains synephrine, which can both stimulate metabolism and suppress hunger. One unwelcome similarity between Advantra-Z and ephedra is unhealthy side effects. Advantra-Z may increase the heart rate of its users. NoPhedra also contains forslean, a natural compound derived from an Indian plant, coleus forskohlii. Forslean increases the amount of cyclic AMP, which in turn decreases fat and promotes a variety of positive physiological and biochemical effects. Some of these effects include increased insulin secretion, increased thyroid function, and relaxed smooth muscles. Though not as hyped, this product also contains the natural stimulant green tea, guarana, flavanex, and hydroxytryptophan. F Block contains a very large dosage of chitosan, which is derived from the shells of crustaceans such as shrimp. It is most commonly used as a plant growth enhancer. It can also clot blood quickly and has been approved for use in bandages. It is purported to attract fat and expel it from the body, but scientists remain skeptical. Many worry that it may steal nutrients from the body. F Block also contains vitamin C and vegetable cellulose.C Block contains chromium, vanadium, and white bean extract. Chromium increases the activity of insulin, a hormone involved in metabolism. Vanadium imitates insulin and can thus increase metabolism. And white bean extract can decrease starch absorption.

The Liposlim System’s three-way attack is appealing-at least one of them must work, right Unfortunately, none of the three seem particularly promising. The F Block banks on an ingredient that many scientists balk at. Not only is chitosan’s effectiveness in question, but it may case unhealthy side effects. The C Block is not much more encouraging, though chromium has potential. The best of three is NoEphedra, which combines several popular stimulants including Advantra Z, forslean, and green tea. In the end, this system may be more hassle than it’s worth.
