Does Cytolean Really Work?

Question: My personal trainer recently told me there has been some buzz in the gym about a product called Cytolean. Can you tell me more about it?

Cytolean

Answer: Cytolean is manufactured by a company called Gaspari Nutrition and sold through a company called netnutri.com based in New York City. The product website doesn’t contain any further information about Gaspari Nutrition. The website includes several downloadable pdfs that are paid advertorials written by a man named Bruce Kneller, whose credentials are never detailed. He explains the process by which he came up with the formula for Cytolean, but does not quite explain how it achieves its stated fat burning and appetite suppressing effects, except for causing you to ‘forget’ to eat. Instead, he seems to concentrate on the mood altering effects of the supplement, comparing its base ingredient to amphetamines, methamphetamines, ecstasy, LSD, and medications used to treat mental illnesses. He says Cytolean causes a powerful increase in energy and a euphoric sense of well being. He advises you not to drive after taking Cytolean.

The full ingredients in Cytolean are listed on the netnutri.com site and include something called Psycho-corticoid Optimization Matrix, various Chinese herbs, other unexplained chemicals and several additives, including croscarmellose sodium, hydroxyprophyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, triacetin, sillicon dioxide, FD&C yellow #6, FD&C yellow #5, FD&C Red #40. You are warned not to use the product if you are under 21, sensitive to caffeine, pregnant, nursing, or “prone to dehydration or exposed to excessive heat.” You are advised to speak to your doctor if you are taking other medications or have any health issues.

There are no clinical trials listed that support the efficacy of Cytolean. There is no mention of a guarantee, no testimonials supporting the product, and no FAQ section for more information.
