Eating a good diet, that has plenty of nutritional value, is what makes your body stay healthy. Fast food, restaurants and microwave meals have a tendency to fill a person’s diet. Some individuals may think that taking bone support supplements is all they need to do in order to keep their bones, and bodies, healthy. However, eating well is also important. You can’t expect the supplement to completely replace the need to eat right. If you can’t change your entire diet, try to include these foods below to promote good bone health.

Foods that are perfect for receiving calcium are dairy foods. Milkshakes from fast food restaurants really do not count. They do contain milk, which is very important for bone growth. But, they also contain too much sugar and sometimes artificial ingredients. Bone support supplements should be made up of pure ingredients. This also goes for dairy products. The correct dairy products to eat should be yogurts and skim milk or cheese. In order to receive the right amount of calcium the proper daily servings of dairy should be at least 3 cups.

Protein is another good food to include while taking bone support supplements. Fish is the primary factor, but you don’t have to eat fish all the time. The servings of fish that you take into your body depend on your gender and your age. For example, women between the ages of 19 to 30 should take in about 5 1/2 ounces of fish, or protein, daily. USDA recommends for men that increase it to 6 1/2 ounces. The average amount everybody should be consuming is between 5 to 6 ounces daily. Healthy servings of fish should be baked or grilled. A fried fish sandwich is generally not the best.

Dark, green leafy vegetables are the most important way to get the calcium you need in your body. It is known that most Americans get their greens primarily in a taco or hamburger. This is actually not the best amount of servings that your body needs. One message from the USDA states as a rule of fun for consumers is to serve your plate half filled with vegetables. This rule helps you to eat the required amount of vegetables necessary in order to consume the proper nutrients for your bones. Bone support supplements can make up for the amounts that you do not eat regularly, which is useful to many people’s busy lives.
